Located on the Black Isle in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, Newhall Mains is a collection of cottages, set within a courtyard building dating from 18th century. We were a family of 6 and I can't stress enough just how beautiful the whole estate is. The lodge we were in has been tastefully and carefully restored perfectly. Thee living room is built around a log burner that felt extra cosy in the cold winter night! The beds were comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, glasses, pots etc. I'd certainly recommend New Hall Main to anybody looking for a slice of luxury, in a gorgeous part of the world.

Located along the north coast, it’s a great spot for exploring. There’s a very personal touch with this hotel, and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was cooked to perfection, as was the evening meal. We sat in the lounge in front of the fire in the afternoon and enjoyed the ambiance of a very tastefully decorated room. Excellent base for exploring the Northern Highlands. Excellent value for money. At this price in this location the only cheaper options are hostel or bunkhouse dormitory beds. Very friendly reception staff at check in and check out. For sure the room looked a bit dated but it was warm, comfortable and everything worked fine - couldn't ask for more at £40 a night.

Cleverly designed space and very comfortable. One of the best equipped self catering apartments we have stayed in. Good value for such a centrally placed location for the northern Highlands. Great Covid precautions in place and ample parking provision too.

Memories of my last visit there in 1973
Incredible staff. Felt like royalty staying here. Assumed this was a mediocre stay and was completely overwhelmed by lovely refurbishment with stunning loch side view, staff that went above and beyond and were hugely passionate about their beautiful boutiquey hotel, and ate some of the finest food I've ever had in a hotel. 20 out of 10!
I had been out on the hills in Torridon and due to poor weather on the hills I arrived about 2 hours after the time I had previously indicated on my booking. When I checked in I said that I assumed that I was too late for dinner and was told that the chef could do me a meat and cheese platter in the bar. The meal was excellent. At check in I explained that I needed to leave as soon as soon as possible after breakfast. At breakfast it was the same lady that had been at reception the previous evening and she did an excellent job in providing my breakfast as quickly as possible. The location is stunning and I will return again for a family visit.
