Located in Brough, 21 miles from Askham Hall, Wilding Hotel has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. We know the property has just been refurbished and all is brand new- but it has all been done to the highest standard possible. It is a family run hotel and everyone pulls together. It is both rustic and stylish and there wasn’t anything that I saw that I didn’t like. Even the door cards were made of bamboo! The rooms are beautiful and the bed head boards were my favourite thing! Solid pieces of wood- so natural but stunning. Comfortable beds with amazing pillows! Beautiful decor - not fussy, just stylish and classy. Rooms cleaned/beds made daily and a lovely touch was having slippers waiting for you on a tray where you leave your shoes, and COMPLIMENTARY soft drinks in the fridge, to have whenever you fancied them. Now that is a first 🥰 and beautiful thick heavy bath towels. There’s a great choice of rooms- double/king/ family/ small double all very tastefully decorated - and 2 Bridal suites to choose from on the top floor with amazing en suite bathrooms. There are 2 gorgeous accessible rooms in the bungalow further down the drive too. The staff were brilliant- so accommodating and friendly. Thank you to each and everyone of you for making our stay there so relaxing and enjoyable. We will be back. Linda & Chris Brown 😃

This is a challenge to answer. The Scotch Arms is a lovely 1600s building(s) that was incredibly well restored. (My partner is an architect, and he said the owners spared no expense in the restoration.) It was a delight to be in such a beautiful treasure of a B&B. The question is difficult to answer because complimenting the wonderful physical establishment is, Dianne, the warm, friendly and knowledgeable owner/host. She gives everyone a warm welcome. On this trip we are staying at 7 hotels/B&Bs, and the Scotch Arms stays in our minds as one of the best on this 20 day trip.
Great location for a nearby wedding, really friendly staff and a homely, lovely room.
