Lovely location just off the A66. Great for visiting County Durham and North Yorkshire. Stay was made very special by the hotel staff who were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. General manager Paul Riley has put together a great team.
Absolutely beautiful. You really are staying in a real castle. It’s wonderful. The room is great. Comfortable bed, large bathroom, free wifi, television in the room as well as a room service menu, which I love. The grounds are magnificent. You really do feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The food is incredible. The staff are very friendly. A must stay!
The breakfast was great, staff was very friendly. Great place perfect stay.
This was our third time staying here. We just love the relaxing atmosphere, the excellent food in the restaurant. The staff are always very friendly and provide a great service. We always go on Valentines weekend and it is never too busy, it can actually feel very exclusive in this regard. The fantastic spa completes the experience
The staff were lovely. Vicky and Holly were particularly great. Vicky even went out to buy my mum special tea after her long shift. Breakfast was great. The pool was lovely…. Great that there was a kid free session. Loved the fact that people could bring there’re dogs along.
There are many things to like about staying at The Teesdale: the relaxed, authentic ambience and pleasant staff; the quality of food served in the restaurant, there was parking on site and there were a variety of inside and outside places to relax outside of one's room. The hotel was well located for staying for several days. There were walks and many places to visit nearby and further afield. I enjoyed my stay.
Charming castle stay with buckets of character. Kids thought it was very magical. Well catered for, friendly staff. Self contained apartment “little castle” was very well appointed.
The STATION INN is an older hotel in Hexham, Northumberland. It is located a 5 minute walk from the train station. We arrived by train so it was very convenient. The hotel overlooks a large playing field of a Recreation Centre. All rooms of the hotel have been recently decorated in a very tasteful way. It has a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast in the hotel dining room. Due to a pending rail strike we only spent one night there. We would liked to have stayed longer. Hexham is a lovely Northumberland town. The bus station is a short walk from the hotel . This is where you can catch the AD122 bus that takes you along the Hadrian's Wall route. You can get off and on at Roman Forts along the Wall or The Sill - Visitors' Information Centre. The buses run every two hours during the day from Hexham to Haltwhistle. The scenery along the route is so beautiful. Since we took the AD122 bus we didn't have enough time there to explore the town of Hexham. Hopefully next time.
This is a challenge to answer. The Scotch Arms is a lovely 1600s building(s) that was incredibly well restored. (My partner is an architect, and he said the owners spared no expense in the restoration.) It was a delight to be in such a beautiful treasure of a B&B. The question is difficult to answer because complimenting the wonderful physical establishment is, Dianne, the warm, friendly and knowledgeable owner/host. She gives everyone a warm welcome. On this trip we are staying at 7 hotels/B&Bs, and the Scotch Arms stays in our minds as one of the best on this 20 day trip.
it was a beautiful building an the location was amazing
The opportunity to stay in a castle surrounded by the history was a real treat
Excellent room, staff and location. And a Drying Room for walker’s soggy jackets, boots etc! Very clean, modern and convenient room within the old world Twice Brewed building. Great stay. A Drying Room!!!
Everything. Food was excellent - dinner and breakfast. Host was most friendly, extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and its history. Room was exceptional. Easy parking. Great location.
