Inveraray
Located in Inveraray and within a 10-minute walk of Inveraray Castle, Brambles of Inveraray features a garden, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. This 4-star inn offers a 24-hour front desk. We loved our stay of 2 nights in the Garden suite! Simply amazing! When we arrived we had a very nice warm welcome of Victoria, one of the owners of Brambles of Inverary. The Garden suite is just lovely! Amazing comfortable beds and sofa in front of the tv. My compliments to the housekeeper who specially arranged the stuffed animals of my daughter on her bed when we came back in our room. This totally made her feel really special. Brambles had their own restaurant and coffee café accross the street. In their restaurant they serve during the day nice lunches including amazing pastries and cakes. I was personally in heaven with 1 of their specialties, the blue berry lemon curd cake with lemon frosting. It's a good thing for my health that I do not live here haha. The first night we also had dinner at the restaurant of Brambles. This was also really excellent. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. This restaurant is nice for any kind of group. In the morning we had breakfast at Brambles which was included. You could choose something cooked from the menu and you were able to take anything you wanted from the counter. Like croissants, cereals or juices. We had Eggs Benedict, very tasty! Brambles is located at the main street of Inverary. Within 10 minutes walk of the Inverary castle and 1 minute walk of the Inverary Jail. Both I definitely recommend to visit! In the area there are also really nice hikes you can do for example go up the mountain 250 metres high to the look out point of Dun Na Cuaiche. Trust me it's worth it! The view at Inverary and Loch Fyne is breahttaking! Next time if Inverary is on our route, we will again book our stay with Brambles!

Tarbert
On arrival, just looked like a normal barge, once through the swing doors very nautical theme, then to our room Loch Fyne, lovely clean room and cracking view of harbour and even had a visit from a swan. Good sized shower room too. Very peaceful location for a night away. There are a few restaurants available nearby, a local recommended the anchorage for dinner, lovely seafood and choice. Breakfast available at hotel opposite or restaurants nearby. Enjoyed our stay.
We stayed at the Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa in Feb 2020 - there have been a lot of changes since the last time we were here. The spa, swimming pool and hot tubs have been upgraded. Dinner in the hotel was a lot better than I remember from last time. Special note to the sommelier in the restaurant for looking after us during our meal and for housekeeping for checking if we needed anything on our second day.
Lovely hotel with old world charm, beautifully appointed rooms with a huge bathroom which had both a shower and a bath. The restaurant menu was really good and the food was cooked to perfection, The best scallops I have ever tasted. The breakfast menu had a great choice and I can definitely recommend the Loch Fyne Kippers. The staff were really friendly ..... a really lovely hotel.

Forest walks at Glenbranter, Pucks Glen, hill monument at Inveraray Castle, Benmore Botanic Gardens, Creggans Inn, Whistlefield Inn, George Hotel, Loch Fyne Brewery, Quadmania near Dunoon, kayaking Carrick Castle Farm at Lochgoilhead, worth pre-booking activities in peak season as some others were full , shore sea loch fishing right on doorstep etc.
Cairndow
I recently stayed here whilst in the area for work, so it really was just a place to sleep for 2 evenings. Can't comment much on the Hotel facilities or food as I didn't go any further than the room. From the interactions I had with the staff they were pleasant enough. The Hotel was set in a good location with lovely views overlooking Loch Fyne.
Inveraray
The rooms were excellent, we had fantastic views over Loch Fyne, the beds were comfy, towels were fluffy and breakfast was as good as some we've had in posh boutique hotels. There were lots of little extras too like hot chocolate and biscuits which made it all very special. The owner gave us ice for our G&T and was very friendly and welcoming.
Room 4 was a fabulous size and very comfortable. The staff were so helpfull and friendly. The breakfasts had good choices and portions were excellent. The location was really good with the front facing Loch Fyne and the Crinan Canal just around the corner to see boats going through the locks. We would definitely stop at The Grey Gull Hotel again.
Inveraray
A very cosy and large comfortable room, large bathroom. Stylishly furnished old style. Very large and comfortable bed. Nice breakfast. A great overnight stop. A few yards from the George Hotel which serves Loch Fyne salmon on its menu. The best I've ever tasted. Stopped there twice on a journey to the Isle of Mull from Southampton
The location of the inn is exceptional, right next to the amazing Loch Fyne, providing superb views up and down the loch. The rooms were spotless, with a great walk in shower ensuite and a superbly comfy bed. All of the staff were friendly and professional.
Inveraray
The apartment looks out over Loch Fyne while being just one minute from the centre of Inverary. It was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The hosts were pleasant and helpful when we had to change our arrival day. We had a great few days.
