Great location overlooking Loch Fyne this hotel built in the 1750's had lovely friendly helpful staff. Our room on the first floor had ample space for 3 adults with huge bay windows with partial view of the loch. Lovely and cosy with a lovely hot shower in the morning. Can highly recommend the Loch Fyne mussels for dinner. Cannot get any fresher than just across the road. Excellent hot and cold buffet options available for breakfast. Loved everything thing about the hotel. Would definitely stay again.
The location was stunning, on the banks of Loch Fyne. The hotel itself is small and friendly, with a nice atmosphere. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent, and breakfast included some really nice options like Loch Fyne kippers, porridge and apricots in honey and spices (which were amazing!). The room we booked had a lovely seating area to relax in, and the robes and slippers were a really nice touch. The bathroom included a lovely deep bath to soak in.
Tarbert
On arrival, just looked like a normal barge, once through the swing doors very nautical theme, then to our room Loch Fyne, lovely clean room and cracking view of harbour and even had a visit from a swan. Good sized shower room too. Very peaceful location for a night away. There are a few restaurants available nearby, a local recommended the anchorage for dinner, lovely seafood and choice. Breakfast available at hotel opposite or restaurants nearby. Enjoyed our stay.
Inveraray
The apartment is stunning!! The location is perfect and the parking is plentiful! Views from the windoows are directly over Loch Fyne and the entire experience was far exceeding our expectations. The Apartment manager Chane is a delightful lady and very helpful. Without doubt, the only place to stay in Inverary!! Reccommend the George and the Inverary Inn, the haggis bon bons are awesome!

Forest walks at Glenbranter, Pucks Glen, hill monument at Inveraray Castle, Benmore Botanic Gardens, Creggans Inn, Whistlefield Inn, George Hotel, Loch Fyne Brewery, Quadmania near Dunoon, kayaking Carrick Castle Farm at Lochgoilhead, worth pre-booking activities in peak season as some others were full , shore sea loch fishing right on doorstep etc.
Inveraray
The rooms were excellent, we had fantastic views over Loch Fyne, the beds were comfy, towels were fluffy and breakfast was as good as some we've had in posh boutique hotels. There were lots of little extras too like hot chocolate and biscuits which made it all very special. The owner gave us ice for our G&T and was very friendly and welcoming.
Room 4 was a fabulous size and very comfortable. The staff were so helpfull and friendly. The breakfasts had good choices and portions were excellent. The location was really good with the front facing Loch Fyne and the Crinan Canal just around the corner to see boats going through the locks. We would definitely stop at The Grey Gull Hotel again.
Inveraray
A very cosy and large comfortable room, large bathroom. Stylishly furnished old style. Very large and comfortable bed. Nice breakfast. A great overnight stop. A few yards from the George Hotel which serves Loch Fyne salmon on its menu. The best I've ever tasted. Stopped there twice on a journey to the Isle of Mull from Southampton
