Chateau de Monrecour is located in Périgord Noir region, in the heart of the Dordogne Valley. It offers two heated swimming pools, a large south-facing terrace and a gourmet-style restaurant. The staff at this charming hotel were incredibly welcoming, and the location is stunning! From the moment you arrive, you are immersed in a sense of relaxation and beauty. Our room was situated not in the main building (the castle) but in a lovely annex. It was quiet at night, which is very important to me. The room was spacious and cozy, with tea, coffee, and water available for free. We dined at the restaurant inside the Domaine; the food was good, though in my humble opinion, not exceptional. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. The beautiful breakfast room, located inside the castle, offered a great variety of choices. The garden and the view are stunning, with swimming pools located in various spots. Having visited many hotels in Dordogne during my stay, Château de Monrecour was definitely my favorite. I hope to have the chance to go back soon.

And the service was great. Great location to explore area. The restaurant really good and the place where they serve you breakfast was lovely. Definitely want to return again.

Situated in Limeuil, 40 km from Bergerac Train Station, Les BALCONS de L'ESPERANCE features accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. We were welcomed with a lot of enthusiasm and caring to this beautiful country inn right on the Dordogne River. Sitting on the patio looking out over the valley was a bit of heaven! The dining room was lovely. It was a fine base to visit nearby Sarlat La Canadia and to see other ancient buildings in the Dordogne area.

This hotel is just 170 metres from the Cro-Magnon Shelter and 350 metres from the National prehistoric Museum. Dating from 1964, it offers a heated, outdoor swimming pool and an on-site bar. Great location, very nice room, excellent service, and a restaurant with excellent food (would definitely deserve a Michelin star).

Located less than a 5-minute walk from the train station in Les Eyzies, near Cro-Magnon rock shelter, Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon offers an outdoor swimming pool and a shaded terrace. Perfect location, quite a night, but only five minutes on foot to the prehistoric museum. Small, but delicious breakfast. Very friendly owner and personnel. Too bad that it was too cold to use the pool. It looked very inviting. Parking right across from the hotel.

Le Mas del Pechs is situated on the hill of Sarlat-la-Canéda, just 1 km from the heart of the medieval city. We were 2 couples, old friends, one American and one French on a road trip. We used this hotel as our base for 6 nights in the Dordogne as it not far from most of the sites we intended on visiting. We were extremely happy with our stay, starting with our hostess, Anne Marie, who gave us a warm welcome and was especially helpful with recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, even making reservations for us. Our rooms were spotless, nicely sized with beautiful bathrooms and separate toilets. We had a lovely terrace and a view of the grounds. It was too cold to go swimming but the pool looked very inviting. The breakfasts (not included but fairly priced) were very good with lots of choices. We chose this hotel as it seemed to be a calm oasis to relax in after sightseeing and we were not disappointed. This was the by far the best place we stayed in during our 3 week trip in France.
