We only stood one night and could enter the room before the official check in time. We even were upgraded to a bigger room. The room has everything you need and it is taken care of a lot of additional little things that enhance the room (2 pillows per person, TV with wifi connection, curtain to seperate the third bed from the rest of the room, very fast wifi, very comfortable bed, good distribution of light and sockets, magnifying mirror in the bathroom, green/organic products in bathroom). Everything was very clean and comfortable.

I found the description of this hotel so interesting that I decided to go out of my way to stay here instead of continuing on to Carcassone. I had a huge room in Renaissance style with so many features and special ornamentation from that era. It was like spending the night in a museum of decorative arts. The hotel staff speak perfect English and we're kind enough to bring my bags to the room. The location is easy to find with GPS. It's not a very large city and there's plenty of free parking within convenient walking distance although the hotel does offer valet parking for a fee. This overnight was one of the highlights of my trip.

Chateau de Monrecour is located in Périgord Noir region, in the heart of the Dordogne Valley. It offers two heated swimming pools, a large south-facing terrace and a gourmet-style restaurant. The staff at this charming hotel were incredibly welcoming, and the location is stunning! From the moment you arrive, you are immersed in a sense of relaxation and beauty. Our room was situated not in the main building (the castle) but in a lovely annex. It was quiet at night, which is very important to me. The room was spacious and cozy, with tea, coffee, and water available for free. We dined at the restaurant inside the Domaine; the food was good, though in my humble opinion, not exceptional. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. The beautiful breakfast room, located inside the castle, offered a great variety of choices. The garden and the view are stunning, with swimming pools located in various spots. Having visited many hotels in Dordogne during my stay, Château de Monrecour was definitely my favorite. I hope to have the chance to go back soon.
