The Château des Avenieres - Relais & Châteaux is located in the countryside between Annecy and Genève. The suite we resided in was outstanding! Unbeknownst to us was a kitchenette in the suite. That allowed us to stay there at the chateau and enjoy the incredible scenery. The size of our suite allowed us to have a very open feeling as well as room enough to freely move about. I can’t say enough about our accommodations except superb.

The hotel/residence was beyond expectation. We only stayed one night, so I cannot vouch for everything, but it looked pretty luxurious to me. The room (ground floor) was spacious and it opened into a basic private garden, and it was furnished with minimum equipment for eating in. Enormous bathroom, comfortable bed. Quiet but lively. There was a swimming pool we didn't explore, and the hotel itself is impressive, with spacious and well-furnished lounges and common spaces, all immersed in the green. Modern/artsy decor in the common spaces, lots of different styles, all new. It was both romantic and offered great promise of getting to know other travellers. I found it fantastic. The staff was very kind too.
