La Casona Las Cinco Calderas is a 17th century noble house converted into a rural hotel, located in the Cantabrian coastal countryside. It is on the route of the Camino de Santiago del Norte. The food was excellent and well served by helpful staff. The building has been sympathetically renovated and is well maintained.

This beautiful country house is surrounded by 3000 m² of gardens in Suesa, less than 4 km from the beaches at Somo. It features an ideal setting for hiking. Excellent family owned hotel superbly located in the village. Greeting letter in English. Nice touch. Lovely room with balcony overlooking extensive well cared for garden. Safe parking on site. Excellent continental style breakfast. Comfortable public areas. Lovely old building full of character. Spotlessly clean which is very impressive considering all the old beams and nooks and crannies.

This modern hotel enjoys great views over Santander Bay, and is just 350 metres from the unspoilt beach of Somo. It is surrounded by gardens and green fields. Breakfast was simple, lovely coffee, orange juice, croissant and or tostada with fruit to follow...a perfect start to the day! served by the charming owner Alejandro and his family who went out of their way to please us at all times.Parking was good at the hotel with an an easy walk into town, restaurants and beach.We had a truly lovely five days and will return.

This modern hotel is located just 450 metres from the wide, sandy beach of Loredo. It has its own outdoor swimming pool surrounded by gardens. Town is quiet which is what we wanted, staff fantastic, great terrace and very cheap drinks. Great views of the mountains and countryside.

Hotel Vijanera is located 500 metres from Galizano beach and 3 km from Langre beach and the Cabo de Ajo cliff. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, free private parking and an à la carte restaurant. Ramera made this stay a ‘10’ as he was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful. Room was very comfortable with a cozy bed, large window that opened and very nice private bathroom (shower had foot massager!). Attached restaurant made getting food and drinks a breeze.

Bemon Playa Hotel is located in the town of Somo, across the bay from Santander. It is just 150 metres from a long sandy beach and various surfing schools. Surf equipment can be stored on site. Location was excellent, really near Somo beach and bars as well as a supermarket. The room was spacious and had a small balcony. The staff could not do enough to help with any query or request, they were truly excellent.
