Arrived at 5pm; loved the Museum of Navarre; walked Encierro afterwards; enjoyed sampling different tapas along the way. Tapas truly come to life here. Early next AM, walked the streets visiting churches, great breakfast in Hemingway's favorite cafe on the square and left at 10am - Simply put, not enough time at all!

Pamplona is the clean, green, pretty, capital of the ancient Kingdom of Navarre.it is populated with friendly, hospitable people.. Basque culture and food are very alive in Pamplona-Iruña. Despite plenty to see or do, you might easily enjoy just munching on delicious pintxos and drinking a quality wine from Navarre while chatting with the friendly locals.
We spent our entire visit in the old town. We LOVED walking the route the bulls run in the San Fermin festival and touring the bullfighting arena. The Pamplona Cathedral was beautiful and Navarre Museum well worth a visit.
The hotel is in a stunning location and the monastery buildings are beautiful. It was a great base to explore a whole range of places in Navarre. Our room was very peaceful with only the noise of the owls calling at night. We also enjoyed visiting a couple of the church services to hear the monks singing Gregorian chant which is a very ethereal experience.

The room and the hotel itself are great! Very nice location, you can reach it by car only. The views are stunning, very relaxed and calm atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are welcome mini tapas. Also, there is a lovely garden and swimming pool in the common area.

The first time I stayed at this hotel was in 1998. The second time was in 2010. I stayed at this hotel again in 2023. Everything has been renovated, it looks new, with attentive staff and an excellent breakfast. Whenever I return to Pamplona, I will stay at this hotel.

It is also a landmark hotel, and not only due to Hemingway, it is really unique. Especially great is the staff: reception, cleaning ladies, -- real professionals and very-very friendly.

Everything the structure, the decor, the amenities, the finish and everything that you could possibly need on a holiday. But to top it all was our host Mr.Ruben Mendi, he did everything that was expected from a good host, he also did what was not expected like gift us with home grown vegetables and a bottle of very nice wine. What won our hearts was when he said "If you need anything any time or get lost in deserts of Bardenas, just give me a call, you have my number." It feels so nice to know there is someone to depend on in a different country, it is so reassuring to know that someone cares. So i will recommend this place and this host to one and all. We found a new friend to cherish in Ruben.
It had everything we needed and the lady checking us in was so nice. We arrived on Sunday so there were no food services, but the grocery store was open. We got supplies for dinner and breakfast. The showers were clean and the water was good! It was a great stay!
