Albergo Ristorante Al Portico is located in the picturesque village of Gerra Gambarogno, just 50 metres from Lake Maggiore. great little village to stroll around in. nice beach access with stairs, diving board and grass and beach. the couple who runs the hotel and restaurant were above and beyond and accommodated us ( vegan) great courtyard garden restaurant.

The hosts have really put a lot of thought and effort into furnishing and equipping this very large space (1.5 the size of other holiday rental studios?). Tania was very helpful and shared food with us, plus there were some provisions (different types of coffee and teas, oil, vinegar, etc. all supplied free). The bed and pillows were the best we had in an 18-night trip through France, Italy and Switzerland. The space and host were so impressive that we immediately extended our stay there.
