Very quiet. It was good to have two windows on opposite sides of the building in the evening, to quickly cool the room with the breeze.
Walking distance to Mammoth Brewery, and other places in the central area is obviously a plus if you want to get two pints, rather than one (and avoid having to wait for extra safety).

Lee Vining
Located in Lee Vining, within 1.4 km of Yosemite Tioga Pass and 48 km of Mammoth Mountain, Murphey's Motel LLC provides accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The disability room was excellent, huge shower, although there was no light in the shower area or fan in the bathroom. We were able to park right in front of our room which made it easy to get to the car.

We aren't used to having dogs stay in hotels/motels coming from Australia. The room we had smelt liked a dog had pissed/pooed in it days before we got there. My kids were gagging so we requested to get moved to a room that pets aren't allowed. The room was good. Due to the location to Yosemite, they don't really need to do a whole lot to get guests staying there. There person at the desk was really helpful though.
There is very little in Lee Vining but our host was very friendly and the location was very good. The motel's site says to ring if going to be late to arrive because the place closes about 8pm. the only trouble was that from Las Vegas to Lee Vining we could not find cell/mobile phone reception to be able to ring ahead. Fortunately we arrived early enough to be able to obtain checkin without difficulty. Room was good, host very friendly and would stay here again.
The monarch inn had everything you'd want in a motel: Good parking, easy check in, clean facility and room, quiet, with a pool and a few breakfast items. I really enjoyed the bakery up two doors and the downtown area of Mariposa safe and walkable after dark.
It is near to national parks and Bass lake, it is great motel to stay, everything you need is near (restaurants, bars, shops, gas station).
The motel was order, but very clean with new carpet and freshly painted.
The Motel has a perfect location to get into Yosemite Nationalpark (by car 10-15mins from Motel).

Small motel, but provided all amenities
The room was great - the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was small but there was plenty of good coffee. The motel is about an hour away from Yosemite, we spent 2 nights there and it was an easy drive with beautiful views. Would come again.
