As an Australian we were not allowed to tour the White House as our consulate are too lazy to apply for us.
Americans have to apply through their congressman for permission so be aware that you just cannot turn up and request a tour like they do in the movies.!

The entire staff was very professional and friendly and I loved the decor in the hotel. In addition, the location was perfect for tourists- 10 minute walk to the White House and 15-20 minute walk to the National Mall.
The location is undoubtedly the hotel's biggest advantage—being just a short walk from the White House, National Mall, and several museums made sightseeing very convenient.
As for the room itself, it was clean but nothing special. The bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was small but functional, with basic amenities. Housekeeping did a good job keeping things tidy during my stay.
The location is superb. Easily within walking distance of the White House, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, the Reflective Pool, the WWII Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial. Also, the City Transit System (Bus/Subway) was in very close proximity and a host of eateries. The apartment was decently furnished, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and plenty of closet space.
The location of the hotel is great. In just a few minutes you can reach the White House, the Washington Monument or Chinatown. The subway station can also be reached in five minutes.
Great location downtown. Very walkable and safe, about 5-10 minutes walk to the White House. $10 Uber to my favorite National Museum of Natural History. Appreciate the hotel rooftop bar. Something to do without leaving the hotel. Like the free breakfast. Convenient for early risers.
The most impressive and important trait that made our stay very enjoyable was the staff. Everyone, from the front desk worker Frank to the the wonderful staff of the breakfast room, was welcoming, gracious, and very helpful. Fedi, a concierge, was very gracious and helpful. We were very pleased with the location near the White House and other attractions we wanted to visit. I'd highly recommend this hotel for others who want to see the tourist sites of DC and stay in a comfortable, very pleasant and supportive hotel.
Amazing location and a great hotel. Would definitely stay again. Short walk to both Farragut West and North metro stops. Easy walk to the White House and walkable to the monuments if you are up for a longer walk. Staff was very kind and everything was spotless. Rooms seemed newly updated and were nicely appointed. Very quiet and comfortable.
