The location is very close to the ferry terminal.
It felt safe overall. Rooms were adequately appointed though a bit small.
Reception staff were friendly and very helpful.

The accommodation itself is a tourist attraction with lots of photo opportunity. It's interesting to learn about the history of the mansion from the tour. We also enjoyed the guzheng music played by a solo artist in the courtyard on a Friday evening.
Since it is located in the Unesco World Heritage Site, many historical significant attractions are within walking distance.
The room is clean although it's slightly dim. We love having the breakfast in the courtyard and the food was good.
This stay is highly recommended for a truly unique cultural experience.

To sum it up, this is an exceptionally warm and charming hotel that I would highly recommend.
East Indies Mansion is a beautifully converted hotel from a house with over two hundred years of history, and the building itself carries an incredible sense of heritage. Our four-day, three-night stay was not only comfortable but also incredibly heartwarming.
Although I typically stay at five-star hotels, I have to say this place matches, if not surpasses, any five-star hotel I’ve been to. It was spotlessly clean—I couldn’t find a single speck of dust. Despite the slightly mismatched proportions of the curtains to the windows and having only one bathroom in the room, the level of comfort more than makes up for these small quirks.
Ms. Anna, who welcomed us, was impressively efficient and kind. The two other staff members, both Indian, one male and one female, were equally friendly and accommodating. Lastly, the location couldn’t be better. Almost all of the key attractions are within walking distance, and even if you need transportation, it’s just a short ride away. I cannot recommend this place enough—it’s truly a fantastic experience!

Great value for money. Aside from the double bed, you also get two additional single mattresses, a sofa bed, and a futon. Good location at Bayan Lepas not far from 2nd Penang Bridge.
The location and view are amazing. You have a clear view of the Penang Bridge and sunrise. The host and property were excellent. I initially did not read the check-in instructions clearly and the host was available immediately to remedy my mistake.
The view from the spacious balcony was very nice. Great for pictures of the second Penang bridge. The location is very quiet but we chose it because it's very convenient to leave in the morning without traffic jam.

The family suite was simply marvelous with dining area, living area, an office area/room that also acts as a mini pantry with ironing board which also can be used as solat area.
