The accommodation itself is a tourist attraction with lots of photo opportunity. It's interesting to learn about the history of the mansion from the tour. We also enjoyed the guzheng music played by a solo artist in the courtyard on a Friday evening.
Since it is located in the Unesco World Heritage Site, many historical significant attractions are within walking distance.
The room is clean although it's slightly dim. We love having the breakfast in the courtyard and the food was good.
This stay is highly recommended for a truly unique cultural experience.

To sum it up, this is an exceptionally warm and charming hotel that I would highly recommend.
East Indies Mansion is a beautifully converted hotel from a house with over two hundred years of history, and the building itself carries an incredible sense of heritage. Our four-day, three-night stay was not only comfortable but also incredibly heartwarming.
Although I typically stay at five-star hotels, I have to say this place matches, if not surpasses, any five-star hotel I’ve been to. It was spotlessly clean—I couldn’t find a single speck of dust. Despite the slightly mismatched proportions of the curtains to the windows and having only one bathroom in the room, the level of comfort more than makes up for these small quirks.
Ms. Anna, who welcomed us, was impressively efficient and kind. The two other staff members, both Indian, one male and one female, were equally friendly and accommodating. Lastly, the location couldn’t be better. Almost all of the key attractions are within walking distance, and even if you need transportation, it’s just a short ride away. I cannot recommend this place enough—it’s truly a fantastic experience!

Great location just beside the shopping mall Gurney Plaza and another mall Gurney Paragon is within walking distance. Hawker center is also walking distance. I stayed there on new year eve. I could just take the elevator down to join the countdown party at Gurney Plaza and go straight up to my room after the party don't have to worry about the traffic. Love the smell of the toiletries, especially the lotion, nice tube packaging.
