The quaint city is an hour away from Geneva. Being on the banks of Lake Geneva, Lausanne is easily accessible to Evian by ferry. The lake edge is really stunning and allows one to spend a lazy day walking around. The Olympic museum is quite fascinating, and the aquarium at Aquaticusis very interesting for both adults and children. Do not miss the Farmer's market in the centre of town every Saturday morning where you can get some of the freshest produce possible.

We really enjoyed visiting the old town starting from the Cathedral, which although its undergoing restoration you can still go inside. The walk from the cobbled streets outside the Cathedral down to the train station is worth it, but you'll need comfy shoes to navigate the steep descent to Lausanne Station. The lakeside is a must see including the Olympic museum.

Try to avoid staying over on Sunday. All the shops are closed after 6 pm to 6.30 pm from Monday to Saturday and close on Sunday. So we feel wasted 1 day on Lausanne as it is Sunday. We only can walk around visit Churches and window shops on Sunday.

Lausanne is a fantastic city. The lake is simply stunning and if you are a tourist I think staying by the lake is possibly better than being in the city as it is so beautiful and changes all the time. The city has some nice upmarket shops and some lovely restaurants. There is a great metro service to get you up and down the hill and most hotels give you a free pass for this. There are lots of young people in Lausanne and all the restaurants and bars are very busy. We visited Montreux by train and Gruyeres by bus and Evian les Bains across the lake by boat.

I traveled to other places in France a Switzerland. The train station is just 3 stops away from the hotel. The hotel is just above the metro station. When you arrive using the metro, you must take the elevator to floor E1. The hotel is just in front of the elevators to the left. Very well located! In Lausanne, we enjoyed the lake walk, the Olympic museum, the Place du Palau, the wood stairs. Just walking the city is relaxing. The cafes, the restaurants and shops are first class. We stayed 12 days and 11 nights. We wanted to stay longer. We love Switzerland ❤️
The hotel is right on the main street so there is lots to do and see. The hotel is located above a restaurant, but I never noticed any noise from it. I was in room 23 on the third floor which is right above the street but when I close my windows, it was perfectly quiet. I got a nice breeze with the windows open at night because there is one on adjacent walls. Checking in was fine, but there was just the waitress in the cook when I got there, so they were quite busy but I understood. Check out is easy, just drop a key in the box and walk out.
It’s not as bad as I was expecting after reading some of the reviews, so in a sense we were “pleasantly surprised”, but it’s definitely overpriced for what you get (even for Switzerland)!

+ location is perfect, the hotel is in a very central neighbourhood but the street is quiet
+ you get free transportation everywhere in Lausanne (bus, metro..) and discounts in museums, although I think every hotel in Lausanne offers this.
Decent breakfast choices, clean comfortable rooms, location was very convenient, metro train station (Bessieres) is just opposite to hotel. A Coop grocery store is accessible just by crossing the street. Plenty of restaurants nearby and 15 minutes walk to Lausanne train station. So if convenience is very important, this is a good place to consider and its value for money.
We (my partner, our dog & I) have spent one night at this hotel. The hotel and the rooms are very cute and we loved the Switzerland theme which is all over the place - it gives a really cute charm (especially for non-Swiss travelers). Also the location of the hotel is extremly good and you can easily enjoy Lausanne by foot from there.
With some friends we decided to visit some places in the Canton Vaud. We stayed one night in Lausanne, in Hotel Bellerive. What a lovely stay! Everything was perfect: the rooms were even bigger and nicer than expected! They were clean and the beds very comfortable. The staff was incredibly kind. Would recommend!
Perfect room for 1 person, two water bottles offered by the hotel, perfect location near train station and close to restaurants. Free public transport tickets given at check-in which is a great surprise and bonus! Room was ready when I arrived at 11 am, staff was really nice, clean room
We absolutely loved everything about the Beau-Rivage Palace. The property is gorgeous, the cuisine was fabulous, and the staff was first rate! in fact, we would say the staff was the best in the world! They were the difference makers between this and similar resort-hotels. A+
Brand NEW hotel with clean, modern rooms. A great value. Excellent staff. Delicious buffet breakfast. They even gave us free public transportation passes to ride the bus, subway and train. The easiest way to enjoy Lausanne, without the hassle of driving or parking.
It was a nice place to stay. The room we had was clean and even had a nice view to the lake. The location was perfect and everything was walking distance. The hotel was 7-8min away from Lausanne la gare and the staff was really kind and were always happy to help.
The hotel is located very conveniently in the city center close to bus stops and metro stations. The check-in/out is quick and efficient. I pass by Lausanne every now and then, and the Ibis at Rue du Maupas is my first choice where to stay.
It’s incredibly difficult to find anything positive, I didn’t expect anything like this in Switzerland, especially considering the price. But I will try:
