Location is great (5 minutes away from union square and Chinatown), right by Powell street cable car, walking distance to pier 39. Plenty restaurants and bars nearby. Comfy bed, clean bathroom and fast wifi. Very helpful and welcoming staff.

This was my first stay at Golden Gate Hotel and what a wonderful surprise it has turned out to be! i loved everything about it: my bed was amazingly comfortable, the room was very clean, spacious, silent and full of natural light just 2 blocks from Union Square. but the staff is beyond 5stars. Over all my stay has been a wonderful experience. I’d happily recommend to anyone.

Sasha was so helpful and let us store our bags when we arrived early. The location was perfect and we felt safe and secure. Bed was comfy and there was a basket of snacks and a coffee machine. Try the alamo square cafe up the road and make sure to visit the alamo square park for panoramic views of the city (beautiful at night also)Location is walking distance to several neighbourhoods with restaurants and stores to check out. Would recommend this place to anyone

The location is nice and clean. Despite of construction going on while we were there and no elevators just the stairs, it is still worth it. It is affordable, accessible and clean rooms.

The Marina Inn, was perfect for my stay. It is not fancy but the staff were kind and friendly and the location was perfect for what I needed. This place is what it is, I loved it and would stay again.

I loved the host (I think it was his mother, actually). She let me in even though I got there very early. I was all wet and freezing so she quickly cleaned a room and let me check in early.
