Located in Ruteng in the East Nusa Tenggara region, Karleta Homestay features a patio. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. This is not ordinary accommodation. It’s a truly local experience with a local family. They welcomed us with a smile and they let us feel like part of the family. Facilities are basic but there are all the essentials: WiFi working well, comfy bed, (we had a private) bathroom with running water on toilet and a (cold) shower, a tasty meal prepared by the family. They speak good English and even the daughters do! The location is a bit outside the centre of the town and on a hill, but we liked walking around cheered by locals to watch the village life going on. We would definitely go back again. Valerie and her family are very kind and super helpful. The room was really clean, minimal, modern and very comfortable. Mentos helped to organize boat trip for us to 17 Island National Park, everything went smooth and there are many beautiful corals and fish to see, fresh fish roasted on fire for lunch during the day trip is included.

The staff were extremely helpful, and the food was delicious, complete with a welcome drink and a delightful breakfast. The coffee was exceptional—the best I've ever tasted, likely made from special beans. We intended to book another stay after our boat trip, but it was fully booked.

It was a great experience to stay with and talk to the whole family including their children. I could also enjoy a nice breakfast before I left. You can also do tours with Ricardo or rent a scooter. La Geiro Villa Labuan Bajo is a recently renovated homestay in Labuan Bajo, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. Great place to stay if you want to get a little bit out of town. The property was very clean and brand new mattress and pillows. Great shower pressure. They have scooters on the property to rent at a good price. Very friendly staff.

Featuring barbecue facilities, shared lounge and views of sea, ORA KOMODO HOME STAY is situated in Komodo, 1.9 km from Pink Beach. Easily one of the most rich experiences we have had on our travels. We enjoyed spending time with jecky’s family, eating delicious home cooked meals, seeing Komodos (of which there are many behind the village), trekking in the national park, swimming with mantas, hiking Padar…the list goes on! Even just sitting on the balcony and watching the fishing boats or the resident dugong play with a sea turtle is a great way to pass the time. Jecky is a great host and has great English. You can arrange/discuss all your travels and activities with him via WhatsApp prior. And his wife is a great cook! This is a unique opportunity you will be lucky to have. It’s a homestay (not some bland hotel experience) so come ready for adventure.
