It was truly a pleasure to stay in this 110 year old traditional Japanese house. There were no other guests at the time and we had the whole house to ourselves. The house is tastefully furnished and there is even a new trail bicycle available for guests. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. He offered to make reservations for us at a local restaurant and even drove us (at a time that best suited us) to the trailhead for our hike at Magome.

Very clean and homely. Lively pets around, which was a welcomed change :) A 30 min walk from Gifu JR, hosts happily dropped us to the station at checkout. I believe you can organise pick up and drop off with the host. Regardless, a 30 min walk on flat ground is completely possible and should not deter anyone. However there is a local line which is 13 min walk from the house.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Tajimi Guest House is set in the middle of nature, 3 km from Tajimi Station. It’s a quiet location, which is nice. First time in years that I have slept without earplugs. Good to know: you can not bathe at the guesthouse. I was a bit scared of using the Onsen at first, but ended up loving it. The hosts are such nice people. They made my stay even better, thank you so much.

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. Location is good, only 2min walk from bus station. And there’s a family mart just around the corner. All the area was very clean! The host was friendly and speak good English.

A 6-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, 力車イン Rickshaw inn offers non-smoking Japanese rooms and Western rooms with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a private bathroom. A free-use kitchen is on site. nice big room, lovely guest common room with coffee and tea for small donation, coin operated laundry, great location

מקום האירוח GUESTHOUSE YANAGIYA שוכן במרחק של 21 ק''מ מאנקיו וונדרלנד ו-41 ק''מ מהכפר היפני טאישו, וממוקם ברובע Magome בנאקאטסוגאווה. The hospitality given to us by the owner was above and beyond. We arrived late but it was no problem. He then cooked us a delicious dinner. Breakfasts were simple and yummy. The next evening the host took us to partake in an onsen at his "local" country club" and then had us booked into the terrific restaurant there which was great as we were there in low season and nothing close by was open. Highly recommend.
