Overlooking the Nile River, the newly refurbished The President Hotel Cairo is located in Zamalek district. The location in Zamalek is nice and safe. The room was clean and spacious and the stuff was really friendly and helpful. Lots of options for breakfast too.

This hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV, a fitness center and a well-equipped spa. It features a restaurant with panoramic Nile views and city views. The Om Kolthoom Hotel was perfect for my needs. It was quiet, clean, close to attractions, and upstairs from a 24-hour cafe and restaurant. The staff was also very respectful and friendly without being pushy. And because it was a holiday weekend in Cairo, I lucked out and had the pool to myself - so it felt very VIP. And as far as design and views go, it looks better in person than in pictures because this is an older hotel with old-fashioned, but tasteful furniture that don't show up that well in photos -- and their is a view of the Nile, but a parking lot in front. Once you're there, you can kind of ignore this. It's super pleasant and great for people who need a child getaway. And this location is great for foreigners, including western women traveling alone. You'll feel safe and respected here.

Our stay at Horus Hotel Zamalek was excellent. The best thing is the location, it's in the center of Zamalek area, which is quiet and full of restaurants and cafes. The staff was friendly and lovely. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was tasty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Horus Hotel Zamalek and would totally recommend it.
