The welcome was incredible and instantly put up into relaxation mode, the service and choice of food was excellent. The colours of the water were so special. Could not have asked for a better honeymoon. We loved every minute. The boat trip to see dolphins was 10/10. Everything about this is 5* luxury, we will be recommending to family and friends. Dhigufaru Island Resort, hotel in Baa Atoll

Located in Dhigufaruvinagandu in the region of Baa Atoll, 29 km from Dharavandhoo, Baa Atoll, Dhigufaru offers a year-round outdoor pool and a private beach area.

We stayed on one of the those water villas with a sunset view. The place was amazing, relaxing, and breath taking all at the same time. There were small sharks and sting rays right in front of our accommodation. We went there mid of April which was towards the end of summer and it rained 2/8 days that we stayed but it was still hot. They had one of these floating breakfast right in front of our room with an amazing view of the Indian Ocean and it is where I did my marriage proposal. The place was clean and the staff were really helpful. Meals were buffet style, no pork or crustaceans as the Maldives is pre dominantly Muslim. At first we were just expecting to chill out and relax in this island but there were activities and excursions as well. Tip: If you are not really into alcohol, Half Board will do you fine. Tip: Make sure your flights in and out of the Maldives matches with your seaplane flight in and out of the smaller islands as seaplanes are not 24hrs. Tip: Bring your own snorkelling equipment, it will save you some money.

Beautiful Atoll and very kind local people. Many spots where to snorkel. The reef is full of life (beautiful marine species). A right place for fishing huge trevally, tuna, mahi-mahi, and baracuda (among other coral fishes)

I specifically chose Baa atoll as it is in the protected Biosphere that regulates fishing and any harmful practices to the underwater environment and coral reefs. It consists of a number of small individual islands as well as a number of "native" islands where locals live and maldivian culture can be experienced. It's also not too far from Male airport - just a short domestic flight and speedboat to the island.

    Sadly, corals reef mostly deed.

Sadly, corals reef mostly deed. However, there are still really many coral fish to watch if you like snorkeling. Beaches are good. Clarity of water was a big mystery for me. It could change from "absolutely clear" to "milky" within 1.5-2 hours. Not sure what to blame for this: tide change or ash from islands rubbish burning plants. Visited two islands 15-20 min away from Dharavandhoo. Saw many sharks from 0.5m babies to 3m

This was a very low key, relaxing experience.

This was a very low key, relaxing experience. Just what you want with a holiday getaway. Absolutely beautiful island. Water Villa room very nice, with snorkeling right out of the room. Boat trips $$$ were great to see dolphins, turtles, etc. Staff and food were great. However, we spent a lot of time trying to figure out what food and drinks were included in the all-inclusive deal, and what were extra. On "seafood night," I asked for a little half-pound lobster tail. Turned out to be US$73 extra. We went on a fishing trip, and they said the kitchen would cook what we caught. But that was a US$30 extra charge. Worst problem here is internet. The only place you can get internet is in the lobby. Wifi in bar and restaurant not functional. And if you want internet in your room it's a US$44+/day but basically doesn't work either. Seriously folks, it's 2023, not 1993!

    The stay was magical.

The stay was magical. Where I come from, we don't have such amazing weather and environment. It was so relaxing and just what was needed. I needed 1-3 more days to have a full week. I only wish I had everything covered and not need to pay for any extras other than souvenirs.

Our butler Adu and the rest of the hotel staff were so welcoming, they did such a great job of making our stay extra special. Our villa was super comfortable and we had the most incredible sunset view from the terrace. We chose this resort in great part due to the dining options available, and the restaurants did not disappoint! We particularly loved Vakku and Onu. We enjoyed a very relaxing couples massage at the spa, but the really highlight were all of the activities, especially turtle snorkeling and snorkeling around the house reef.

We really enjoyed staying here. It was a good choice, and we met amazingly friendly people, experience that totally missed afterwards, when we went to an island resort. In this place we found the possibility of experiencing more of Maldivian lifestyle, try local food, and got nice affordable trips for the sand banks and the coral garden. We learned so much from the team of this hotel, they were so passionate about the beauty of the nature, and they were eager to share with us, we truly want to return someday.

From the great welcome upon landing (late in the evening), to the ease of going snorkeling and beach access. Good food, variety created by Rajesh (Indian culinary graduate, created excellent Indian vegetarian dishes) and accommodating restaurant manager Majed (?) -- who arranged a beautiful breakfast by the beach, quite restful area with shaded rooms. Water Villa had good amenities, but as we expected the waves created some noise at night. But still it was a very romantic water villa stay. The friendly staff.

Wonderful quiet secluded place. Great beach, beautiful views. The entire staff was as empathetic and friendly as possible. A restaurant with amazing food. This is a great place if you want to spend time alone with your loved one or family. Our Host Mini, was very nice and tried to make our vacation as comfortable as possible. I really liked the fact that the hotel took into account my wishes on check-in and was very understanding and responsive to my requests and wishes before check-in.

First it was not that far from airport. And also the vibe of the island was amazing. Modern but also eco friendly place. Staffs were really friendly and kind. Hotel was also healthy friendly so we could have fresh and healthy food. Room condition and also view was amazing. Also it was small island so it was not many people so it was really private and chill. it was really nice they have a bar with shisha too. I really enjoyed our stay and had amazing experience.

We loved the villa, amenities, and amazing service from all the staff. We booked this hotel in part thanks to the Kids Club and it did not disappoint, the nannies were sweet and trustworthy. Our daughter had a wonderful time! We booked upon arrival full board, it was the best choice. The drinks menu for full board dining was really good, the food was delicious... the Villas are fabulous as well as the pool. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back.

Amazing villa over the water ! The service was extraordinary and I’d like to mention a few names: Maria, our hostess, was amazing taking care of every single detail for us; Bandula, the hotel manager, was extremely nice with us offering a lunch in the underwater restaurant; and last but not the least the Cooking chef who kindly shared with me a very good gluten-free recipe of pizza ….

The bathroom was special. You could have a shower looking the stars. The bed was huge, very comfortable. They offered coconut water for free. They would take you for free everywhere in the island you wish, and after bring you back to the hotel. However, it deserves rather walking if you can over this paradice island.

The snorkelling is unbelievable, especially near the activity centre side of the resort. We could not believe the amount of sea life we encountered and had a very special visit from dolphins on our first day. Some of the staff are lovely and friendly - Akitha made our evenings a pleasure.
