Tangier is lovely. So much history, culture and amazing food!!! Getting lost in the medina is a requisite for a visit here, but all you need is to ask for directions and the kind people here will be very helpful even if you don't speak the language! Our stay of 4 days at the beginning of our travels thru Morocco and 3 days at the end of out trip was perfect. Enough time to learn our way thru the medina and to see all the sights and eat so much tagine! Come to Tangier, it is beautiful!!!

I loved Tangiers.
I loved Tangiers. It helped that I booked the perfect hotel for me. The hallways, gathering areas, and reception had lots of old-world charm. The desk staff were very kind. The location also was perfect for me. I enjoyed visiting the municipal beach. Who knew beaches could include horses and camels? I ate at local restaurants, and the food was good, and the staff was attentive. Best of all, I enjoyed watching the people go by and the sunset at night. Just chillin'.
Tangier American Legation is 5 minutes from the hotel and is a wonderful museum about the Tangier/American relationship. The laundry and hammam are a block away. The Medina and the ferry to Tarafa are very close. I took a day trip to Chefchoua, the Blue City. I took the Red Bus, but it is also possible to take a taxi around the city for $20.

Tangier is off the beaten path for tourists. The old section was busy and the vendors are willing to bargain. It still has an older airport but for the little town they were adequate. The hotel arranged for a larger taxi and the drivers were fluent in French but not so much English. It was a laid back time with no one begging. The city had plain clothed police in the tourist areas but it was kind of cute because they were in plain clothes but had a red arm band stating they were police.

We traveled during Ramadam (on a budget) so most cafes were closed during the day, except those in heavy tourist areas, but this meant less tourists, so all in all a positive experience. The water was turned off in the Medina on two of the four mornings we were there, so I would recommend staying outside the Medina but close to it. Small dars and riads have steep stairs and no elevators so not a great option for everyone, but they have the most charm and hospitality. The Kasbah area is very nice with beautiful views.
The Riad is located in the heart of the Medina, just a few meters from the lovely Petit Socco, the seaside and the Grand Socco, the main square to arrive for Tangier Old Town. The hosts are the loveliest people I have met on my entire trip to Morocco - always reachable, always helpful and so motivated to make your stay as good as possible. The place is safe and unbelievably quiet - a miracle in this area. The rooms are spacious and clean, bath room in top condition. I can't imagine a better place for such a small rate.
This hotel is perfectly placed for those arriving via Ferry, and just at the edge of the Kasbah/Medina. The staff was the highlight. Always friendly and helpful. They also helped us with arranging a short tour of Tangier for a really good price. The breakfast was included in our stay and was really good. Beds were comfortable and we all slept good. I think this hotel is hard to beat if you are traveling on a budget and want to spend most of your time exploring the Kasbah. The building is a museum and a landmark.
Our stay was absolutely incredible, we couldn't have wished for more hospitable, friendly and helpful hosts! The apartment is very close to the historic centre, right next to the beach and supermarkets are also just a few minutes to walk away. I lost my phone in Tangier and both of our hosts immediately offered to help and even took us down to a phone shop to get a good deal for a cheap replacement mobile! Big thanks to both of them, without a doubt we'll return whenever we're back in Tangier.

The accommodation was incredible in all aspects . The interior was very fascinating with alot of architectural details . Everything was clean and put together and the staff were helpful and friendly especially Mr Ahmed who continuously checked on me and asked if I needed anything throughout the the stay.
The accommodation was also very accessible and well connected to all the touristy spots of the old Medina of Tangier but also to the marina within only a short walking distance.
Tangier was a spontaneous choice and I am so glad I chose this property. I had the room with the balcony and view of the old medina which I was very pleased with. The property is beautiful and perfectly located. Loved the interiors and stories behind the neighbourhood and some of the pieces in the property. I enjoyed the breakfast spread, it was incredible. But the star of the show for me was Muhammed, wonderful man who made sure I was taken care of as a solo traveler.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, they really went the extra mile to accommodate requests and be of service. I felt quite safe at the hotel as a solo female traveller. The hotel grounds are lovely, offering nice views of the sea in the distance, and a big pool area to relax and enjoy the sun. Breakfast selection is good and I appreciate that it’s served until 11am. Bathtub is a bonus! Location is very close & walkable to the Medina and Kasbah.
The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely. A/C and WIFI all worked fine. Super-comfy bed. Great housekeeping, well stocked toiletries selection. One special shout-out to Mr. Maoud, one of the best waiters I've seen in the world, and I've owned two restaurants as well as traveled to 21 countries. This is a superior facility in the heart of the Medina. Returning to Tangier, I would not stay anywhere else.
Breakfast with lots of choice. Garage at 50 meters. Currency Exchange commission bd money distributor in front of hotel. Easy access to Kadbah, Medina and souk. We had a superb view of port. Nice leisurely pool with palm trees with bar service. A taxi stand at the front of building entrance .
The room was big enough for the 4 of us(2 Adults and 2 Kids). The location was fabulous and very close to Medina yet away from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel!

The hotel is a masterpiece. It's one of the oldest hotels in Tangier and looks historical. It has an amazing view of the harbor. The staff were welcoming and nice. The restaurant good. The hotel is located in the old medina so everything was close by.

The location is close to one of the busiest areas of tangier. The old medina is at a walking distance, as well as the port and Marina. The staff members are also very helpful. The café downstairs have a nice breakfast menu.
The hotel (Riad) was a charming place, with only 3-4 rooms, and so it was very cozy, and ideally located in the Medina. Hafida was a perfect host, and Omar was present and super helpful all day long. We felt at home!
