Location to the Harbor and downtown. And there was a restaurant on site. The room had ample space to move around and it had a nice balcony. Staff was very pleasant.

There were only snacks for continental breakfast - but the cabins had a mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster and a microwave so very easy to make your own breakfast. You could also make lunches for hikes.

Breakfast was delicious and served promptly. Room was lovely and spacious with windows that opened. Afternoon coffee and snack available in large dining-sitting room and wonderful wrap-around verandah was tasty and deeply appreciated after hiking in park! Chris is a kind and gracious host.

It was very inviting and intimate. We enjoyed watching the Spring flowers bloom and being so close to the water we were able to wake up early and enjoy the sunrise!

Beautiful facility that adjoins Acadia National Park. Clean rooms and dining area. Breakfast was excellent. Walter and Debbie were wonderful. Dining staff was very nice and efficient. Loved everything about the hotel. Location was perfect. Trail behind hotel led to trails in the park.
We wished we could have stayed longer as we liked the place.
We wished we could have stayed longer as we liked the place.
Next time we will try to come back during the high season as the area was getting ready for the spring and therefore not all shops yet re-open.
But more important for our trip (Eastern 2024) it was not far from the Acadia park.

We stayed in Southwest Harbor because it was the calmer side of the island. We spent most of our time in Acadia and Bar Harbor which was very busy with lots of people so having a calm place to stay and regroup was perfect for us. There was a coffee shop with delightful pastries and Ice cream place nearby. Thurston's lobster pound is where to go for a great experience, it was in Bass Harbor not to far from place of stay.

It was so nice to be on the "quiet" side of the island! Everything was an easy drive or walk from our inn. Everyone whom we met was outgoing and friendly. The restaurant choices were wonderful - we would definitely stay in Southwest again!

Southwest Harbor is a quiet, scenic town with a picturesque harbor. We also took the ferry to Little Cranberry Island with rented bikes. The island was worth the trip, with a nice art gallery about 10 blocks from a good restaurant on a pier. I probably wouldn’t rent the bikes again just for the island biking as we did; the island is too small to get far. However, if you are using them for the carriage road in the park as well, it would be a great double-up.

Loved the village - fun shops and great places to grab a bite to eat. Nice to get away from the bigger crowds in acadia - and an easy drive to the park and to Bar Harbor. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Southwest Harbor is a cute little town on Mount Desert Island that has everything you could need! Great restaurants, quaint shops, and wonderful views. A short drive to Bar Harbor and the other little towns in the area. There are so many hiking and walking trails of Acadia National Park and there are so many levels for different physical abilities. There is a lot to do in the area with lots of little parks and areas with beautiful views. All the homes and gardens are so well maintained and picturesque.

Place is very hands off. We are low key, low need as long as everything we need is there. They did that. For the Bar Harbor area, this is a gem. Close to everything, but out of the madness. And it's a sleep six for the price we would have spent on a room in the town. Grounds are well kept, they have a pool that we could have reserved for a private hour, if we had wished. It was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to this area.
In my life I've stayed in many B&B's in the United States and in Europe. The Lindenwood Inn rates among the top.
The owners and staff are welcoming and efficient. The breakfast is delicious and fresh, and (important to me) the coffee is good.
I doubt that a guest will find a more lovely place to stay than the Lindenwood with its beautiful colors and artifacts collected from around the world all housed within traditional Maine architecture.
After a multi-hotel drive from Ohio to here, and the last place taking my parking space, it was pure joy to be away from the hustle and bustle that is Bar Harbor and Acadia. It was close to Bass Harbor and thirty minutes from the loop. Excellent WiFi, easy entry and a laundry room. Would stay here again.
The property was very clean but dated. We enjoyed the location in Southwest Harbor. The Bar Harbor area was too crowded for our liking. This is definitely a great place to stay for those looking for a quiet vacation.
Lovely property. Room was spacious and comfortable. very nicely decorated. The small kitchen area was great for simple meals. Bathroom was spacious. Pet friendly. Housekeeping staff was wonderful.
It was exactly what we needed- a comfortable place to rest in between activities. It was perfectly located in the center of Southwest Harbor and was only a 10 minute drive to the lake!
The staff: so helpful and interactive. Close to the water and harbor. Easy walking distance to harbor and “downtown” Southwest Harbor. Quiet. Hearty breakfast in main house.
