FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

    The city exceeded my expectations.

The city exceeded my expectations. Hard to narrow down anything in particular as everything was wonderful. Restaurants, hotel, Markets. Take the ferry to Bainbridge Island and enjoy the views of Seattle and the Olympic Mtns. and Mt. Rainier-on a clear day...we did see it! Chinatown area is a bit sketchy, sadly. We did have a delicious lunch there, though! One thing I didn't realize until arrival is how steep the city is-this may be an issue for anyone with ambulation issues. Rideshare services were cheap and available. Great city-will spend more time there one day as we were just in town for a cruise and had only allotted ourselves 2 full days. Oh, and don't miss the Space Needle and ESPECIALLY Dale Chihuly Gardens right next to it!

Over all Seattle was good, enjoyed the trip with family, however the traffic was pathetic and wasted a lot of time in the traffic jams and that's the wort part of the city. parking was also difficult. Be prepared to pay hefty parking bills and prepared to get stuck in the traffic.

Seattle is a beautiful cultural city!

Seattle is a beautiful cultural city! Even though visiting the Space Needle is “just something you do” when you visit Seattle, don’t miss out on walking through the Chihuly Gardens. It was absolutely awe inspiring. Walking through the market was fun. Be sure to bring a bouquet of flowers back to your room as they are absolutely beautiful and inexpensive. Check out “The Dressing Room” for delicious cocktails and food. Then catch an “Can-Can/Burlesque” show at night in the same location. Amidst the business of the city, slow down and take in the views. There is much to do and see!

Beautiful vibrant city, full of local breweries, music venues and great restaurants. Easy to get around in public transportation. Visited Bainbridge Island, West Seattle, Magnolia, Capitol Hill, Fremont, Ballard… and each area had its magic. We also took a Bike Tour with Puget Sound Adventures where we had an amazing taste of the city. And also visited the MoPop which you can’t miss!

Seattle is a beautiful city that does not require a car to get around. The Light Rail system is very efficient, affordable, clean, monitored, and on time. Uber and Lyft rideshare providers are plentiful, although somewhat expensive. It's a walkable city with museums, aquarium, zoo, the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, many restaurants and snack shops, and places/activities for families.

Went for long weekend for couple Mariners games by train. Walked from train station to hotel and from hotel to TMobile stadium, to Pike Street Market and to Space Needle. Safe, plenty of people around, hilly with many restaurants and small coffee shops to stop.

Breakfast was varied and kept well stocked and tables were quickly cleared and cleaned. Location is great for Seattle although area is a downtown one so a bit gritty. There are homeless people around although no one bothered us. Staff in the hotel were exceptionally pleasant and helpful and created a very pleasant atmosphere.
