There could have been more healthy options such as fresh fruits. Also different alternative types of milk such as almond or soy milk would have been great.

It truly was a beautiful hotel.
It truly was a beautiful hotel. You’d never know it was a Holiday Inn. It was redone about 4 years ago and they did a great job! Restaurant onsite called Burger Theory was good. Friendly and helpful staff. Proximity to all attractions in the area was terrific. We were there for a volleyball tournament at the Hampton Roads convention center and it took less than 5 minutes to get there. We also traveled into colonial Williamsburg which was about 30 minutes.
We would stay here again!

Do not stay at this hotel, pictures show clean, well run...
Do not stay at this hotel, pictures show clean, well run establishment, but really they do the cheapest option for everything. The WiFi doesn't work at all, breakfast was horrible, took a deposit that I didn't know was required and they actually have an exit door dead bolted, which is a state fire code violation. Not cleaned daily and staff is not friendly.

Try to stay only at hotels that have uniformed security...
Try to stay only at hotels that have uniformed security guards. I am on a waiting list for housing and for the time being am staying in hotels close to my employment. I cannot afford the more expensive hotels and so pay for the $40 - 55 hotels. Otherwise, Budget Lodge on J. Clyde Boulevard for me was the safest hotel because a separate business has a camera pointing toward the Budget Lodge parking lot. The Mulberry Inn use to have uniformed guards, now people leave main doors open.
This past October, I was placed in a room with really short curtains. When I questioned why were the curtains so short in this room, the male employee took a bedspread off the bed and placed under the short curtain. The next day, one of the hotel guests told me a lady was asking questions about me. A younger employee asked me about my stay and I shared my experience, and was ready to checkout. That lady came out from behind a door with a shocked look on her face. The curtain was changed. They may have gotten away with in their country.
Some guests will hang out in groups in front of your door, talk really loud and then retire to their room. Some people will just spray bug spray just to make it uncomfortable.
Try not to use your remote to get in and out of your car. A hotel I use to frequent did not (at least rightfully at first) question a group of guys using their cells in front of rooms they were occupying. A week later a guy opened my car door around 1:39 am(in the morning) around the time I had to use the bathroom. I looked out the window because I was like "man that is real close to my car." The guy walked to my car and ran to get back in his after he saw me looking out. Place aluminum foil on your remote if that works.

Our intention to see Jamestown nearby the hotel was not...
Our intention to see Jamestown nearby the hotel was not able to be fulfilled as the rain held us back. We did not realize it was a 40 mile drive to Norfolk which we took in order to find a great restaurant! It was in downtown Norfolk and was an old stone church that had been restored for the Freemason Abbey restaurant. Turned out to be worth the 40 mi drive one way! We hope to return one day.
I cannot remember the woman name at the front desk. She was very nice and polshe was able to upgrade my room.
A room was beautiful and comfortable. Relaxing very clean.
The whole property was. We had a birthday party to go to and was only nine minutes away on the same
road That our hotel was on.
I was worried based off the pricing that this property was probably dirty and unpleasant. However, I was most satisfied with my experience. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Normally hotel beds are damp and sticky and this was not the case for Mulberry Inn and Plaza.
Loved the size of our room and the amenities. The free breakfast was so much better than I even hoped for AND the sweet lady who ran the breakfast each morning was fantastic and so very friendly. She should be commended as everything was clean, fully stocked, bright and cheery!
The area was sketchy, and I had to keep an eye on my car. Had a dog barking all night in the room next to me. Would have left, but no other hotels were available. I would not recommend shame on booking dot com for not better vetting these hotels
The room was spacious and very clean. Hotel was quiet and conveniently located near a few restaurants within walking distance. Beds and pillows were very comfortable - plush yet with good support. Variety of pillows to choose firmness.
Small room was functional. We had trouble with fridge and were moved rooms and the new room seemed to be more functional. Staff were obliging when requests were made
Plenty of power points

Particularly portent for o-s guests
The service was exceptional. The breakfast was hot and fresh each day. Housekeeping made sure we always had what we needed. The hotel had a fresh scent and there was no smoking. The bed was actually comfortable.
Staff was pleasant and business like. Clean room, bed, bathroom.
This is a decent but no-frills hotel. Great for budget minded business people and families.
Hotel was easy to access from highway. Pool and Gym easily accessible and offered good basic possibilities to workout. Staff was helpful when help was needed.
