I came to see the solar eclipse. I inteded to stay in Dallas but my previous reservation with AirBnB was canceled at the last minute.
I didn't find Irving particularly appealing. It's not very walkable, everything is spread out and dispersed. I guess there is a downtown area but I didn't make it there. I walked a considerable distance (about 6 miles roughly in a square) and only encountered small, isolated strip malls separated by long, empty sidewalks.
I did have a good Indian meal at Spices of India.

Very clean room, decent beds, plenty of towels and pillows, friendly staff, good breakfast (same as other country inns). I love that I can mix my orange juice and cranberry juice. Close to DFW. Good value if u just need a night near the airport. There is a Burger King and mcDs close by but one way streets and construction made it tough to get around.

We made a Houston Astros baseball game at Globe Life Field and that was great. There are many other things to do in the area but baseball games were top on our list. We ate at Dennys and I-hop and both places were great, good food and very nice servers. Traveling around the area was no problem even though it was July 2nd and 3rd. The only drawback was the toll road.

We flew with American Airlines, we were delayed and spent a total of 3 nights in the Irving area but didn't venture out past the airport or the hotel so other than the crappy experience we had with the airport we have nothing to go by.
I will avoid the Super 8 by Wyndham Irving DFW Airport/South at all costs if we are ever in the area again. Worst hotel ever!
The Comfort Suites DFW Airport was the highlight of our stay, highly recommended!
The location was extremely good and close to the DFW Airport, without being located in the approach sector of the runways. So it was very quiet and we had a very pleasant stay. The area in general is very safe and has a lot of good restaurants nearby. The room was very clean and comfy. The breakfast and lounge area was the best we had seen so far in similar Hotels. We stayed 16 nights and we plan to come back whenever we are in Dallas again. I can definetely recommend this Hotel!

I have stayed here before and had a few issues with the hotel. This time I had none of that. When I first walked in, I could smell the freshness of the room. This time staying here, I got to explore more of the area. It is not far from food and shopping. I will be choosing this hotel every time I come to Irving!
We loved the free breakfast in the morning! Kids loved heated pool and I could workout while watching them swim. Beds were very comfortable, a lot better than newer hotels. I like how the rooms how two rooms with connecting door. It was perfect for our family! We would stay again!
Very comfortable place to stay. Very Quite and peaceful. Also Walmart the mall and plenty nice food places to eat at. Very clean here and organized definitely prefer if your visiting Irving.

I’ve stayed in this hotel many times throughout the years. It doesn’t matter where in Dallas I go to, I always stay in Irving, Texas next to the convention center. This hotel is quiet, clean and breakfast is off the hook (bada$$).
The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel overall was unique with an indoor pool in the back of the large lobby/breakfast eating area. Food and gift shop were open late until midnight/1am for us late travelers.
Front desk was pleasant on arrival,the hotel was well equipped with meals and snacks for after hours when flights are delayed etc,there is the added convenience of a shuttle to the terminal.
