This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at, they have long term tenants which smoke and leave trash.. the whole facility smelt like smoke.. The stair case smelled like urin and had stains all over the carpets..

The jacuzzi but it worked intermittently. Pool was not heated.
The bed was very high and I had to use a step stool and a very heavy chair to crawl into the bed. This hurt my knees. No staff welcomed us or smiled. The breakfast was terrible. Not real eggs (think it was colored tofu) and people didn’t like the breakfast. Very sub standard and charging for a resort fee was in my opinion fraudulent. Location poor. All flowers shown in photos were faux flowers . The bathroom super low toilet seat. This facility should be downgraded and inspected by booking.com and they told me not to use Booking.com to make reservations! Key card to room worked intermittently and WiFi was very poor. No service other than check-in. No help with baggage , no concierge, nothing but a depressing place.

The staff was remarkable. So kind and sweet, I liked the option of going to the bistro but just did not gave time to do so. I also admired the option of a late checkout time at 12 instead of the usual 11 am.

THE BEACHES IN THE AREA ARE VERY NICE AS WELL. VERY CLEAN, WITH MOSTLY WHITE SAND. THE WATER IS A LITTLE CHILLY RIGHT NOW FOR MY LIKING BUT THAT'S WHAT WET SUITS ARE FOR! THE NICE THING I HAVE FOUND IS THAT "MOST" OF THE TIME THE BEACHES ARE RELATIVELY NOT BUSY. CHECK THEM OUT FOR YOURSELF AND I THINK YOU WILL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

while Carlsbad is a lovely city to see, we did not have enough time to walk around, drive around. We were there for a specific reason, and that took all of our time.
From what I heard the flower gardens are suppose to be gorgeous.

Carlsbad is a quaint small town that is worthy of one-day’s exploration. The greater Carlsbad, including the beaches, flower fields and activities off downtown area can probably filled another couple days’ time. However, I probably will become bored if spending more than three days in the area.

It is a sleepy town where most of the restaurants and bars shutdown by 10:30 - 11:30 or earlier even on the weekends. If you want entertainment or nightlife you have to leave the area and head to towns to the north or south.
The big attraction is the beach and some of the boutique restaurants and shops.

The hotel fell short of my expectations.
The bad first:
- The rooms are dirty and in disrepair. My shower turned into a bath.
- The freeway is loud, so you hear cars all night
- The shuttle only starts at 9:30am and runs every 20 minutes. Need to call at 7am to get on the calendar. 11 people to a shuttle.
- Breakfast options are very slim which means you need to venture out to feed yourself. The market next door isn't geared towards breakfast, leaving you starbucks.
The good:
- The location is only 4-5 minute drive to Legoland. Super fast and easy. We decided to forgo the shuttle and just park at the park early (avoid traffic) and eat at a Legoland hotel. Just need to reserve spot on open table night before.
- The pool is nice. Kids loved it.
- Great air conditioning in the room.
Overall, I would rather just pay a little extra and stay at Legoland if you are going to go to Legoland. If you aren't going to Legoland, I don't know why you would stay at this hotel at all.
The hotel goes for a hard value play, but it is a 2 star hotel at best for me.

Well, Summertime is very busy.
Well, Summertime is very busy. Good for finding places to eat. Not so good finding beaches to sit on. Or finding Dog Beaches. Hard to find parking for the beach. Got to get there early. Warm weather inland made for humid weather at the coast. Windmill Food Hall was a great place to eat. As was Benihana and The Green Dragon. Primo Pizza was good too. Beaches were crowded and expect to pay for parking there. If you have one good day at the beach consider yourself lucky.
Amazing location right on the beach. Amenities were fantastic. We had an enormous room with a huge patio overlooking the ocean. Fridge and microwave were also nice to have. Free continental breakfast and they offered free dinner one night as well. They have a great restaurant as well! We really enjoyed listening to the sound of the crashing waves at night.
Close to the beach & Carlsbad Village, restaurants, shops, etc. all walking distance. Hotel provided beach towels, chairs in room to use on the beach. The bed was very comfortable, and loved the upgraded- spa like bathroom with rain shower, and the little Shampoo Spa goodies they provided. Room was clean, and a decent size living room.
We loved staying at the Legoland Hotel. They had so many activities lined up for the kids! I loved how we can cross over to the Castle Hotel and have my toddler play in their playground. It was so nice to be able to relax and let my kids play while I sat and watched them. My 3 year old really enjoyed the dance party at night also!
We stayed here for one night then came back a week later to stay for 14 days. Loved the hotel, staff fabulous and friendly. Always happy to help.
Rooms were so clean and beds were amazing. Housekeeping was every other day which was good for us. Area was quiet but we had a car so it was ok. Laundry room was so handy to use.
Great location across from the beach. Restaurant is pricey but very good. The pool is very kid friendly. You can walk to the beach across the street but it’s not a beach you can layout on it’s too rocky. You need to head north or south a little more maybe a 5 min drive.
This hotel was only 11 min from Legoland.
I love the lush greenery and peacefulness from the patio. The staff was amazing and helpful. The hotel has a lot of extra perks like a shuttle to Legoland or the beach. They gave us beach balls for the kids, and also have beach equipment available! The pool was clean and refreshing.
The location was great if you are planning on spending time at LegoLand. The multiple pools and splash zone for the kids was a nice surprise. The views from the hotel area were amazing! Also, while the wait at the nearby Brewery was long, the food was great.
We stayed there on our last night before heading back to LA. The hotel itself was really good, with a spacious room and a comfy bed - as any accommodation should be. A big shout out to the breakfast staff who were amazing and tried to accommodate everyone.
I liked the location, We were visiting Legoland and this hotel is very close. I liked the daily breakfast, although it was the same for all three days. I wish they would provide more than 2 waffle makers, since the wait for those were always long.
overall it is a very nice hotel tucked Away all by itself in a nice clean quiet area close to the freeway literally right next to it in about a block or two away from the ocean Legoland is right up the street as well by like four blocks
Most probably everybody, who stays here, has the same reason - visiting LEGOLAND. With this reason you accept this hotel as the only option. In general just regular hotel. The kids liked it.
This is an ideal location to legoland California and the best Southern California has to offer. The variety of shops, restaurants and alike only a short distance from the hotel.
Love the amenities. Really nice area for kids with the water park and warm swimming pool, plus the hot tub!

This place is getting sued for fraud, I've been charged double and the staff has the audacity to laugh when I show them proof. Carlsbad PD is about to shut this place down.
