Right across the street from the beach! Quick stroll to downtown area with lots of restaurants. Staff was top notch! Andrew at front desk was so kind and efficient. Beach toys and chairs to use at no fee. Nice hot breakfast, scrambled eggs, one day bacon the next sausage, and potatoes. Yogurt, cereal, cakes, fresh fruit, etc.

Carlsbad is a quaint small town that is worthy of one-day’s exploration. The greater Carlsbad, including the beaches, flower fields and activities off downtown area can probably filled another couple days’ time. However, I probably will become bored if spending more than three days in the area.

It is a sleepy town where most of the restaurants and bars shutdown by 10:30 - 11:30 or earlier even on the weekends. If you want entertainment or nightlife you have to leave the area and head to towns to the north or south.
The big attraction is the beach and some of the boutique restaurants and shops.

The hotel fell short of my expectations.
The bad first:
- The rooms are dirty and in disrepair. My shower turned into a bath.
- The freeway is loud, so you hear cars all night
- The shuttle only starts at 9:30am and runs every 20 minutes. Need to call at 7am to get on the calendar. 11 people to a shuttle.
- Breakfast options are very slim which means you need to venture out to feed yourself. The market next door isn't geared towards breakfast, leaving you starbucks.
The good:
- The location is only 4-5 minute drive to Legoland. Super fast and easy. We decided to forgo the shuttle and just park at the park early (avoid traffic) and eat at a Legoland hotel. Just need to reserve spot on open table night before.
- The pool is nice. Kids loved it.
- Great air conditioning in the room.
Overall, I would rather just pay a little extra and stay at Legoland if you are going to go to Legoland. If you aren't going to Legoland, I don't know why you would stay at this hotel at all.
The hotel goes for a hard value play, but it is a 2 star hotel at best for me.

Well, Summertime is very busy.
Well, Summertime is very busy. Good for finding places to eat. Not so good finding beaches to sit on. Or finding Dog Beaches. Hard to find parking for the beach. Got to get there early. Warm weather inland made for humid weather at the coast. Windmill Food Hall was a great place to eat. As was Benihana and The Green Dragon. Primo Pizza was good too. Beaches were crowded and expect to pay for parking there. If you have one good day at the beach consider yourself lucky.

Terrible experience when trying to sleep the windows don't have proper noise isolation the sound of the freeway plus the sound of their walls/tubs/AC cracking is just awful, we couldn't sleep right the 3 nights there.
You obviously can't beat the location--it's DIRECTLY across the street from the ocean, North Ponto Beach and eventually South Carlsbad State Beach.
You are also about 1-2 miles from Carlsbad Village and all it has to offer and other popular attractions like Legoland.
The room itself was on par with other Hilton Garden Inn properties--reasonable size--extras like a mini fridge & microwave.
The were even nice enough to give me a room with a "peek-a-boo view" of the ocean at no additional charge.
Conveniently Located next to Legoland and only a short drive to the beach. Hotel offers a Legoland shuttle to and from the park included with room. The windmill food market is also a great experience and its located within the Hotel property. Lastly we visited during a cold winter week but the pool was nicely heated and the kids were still able to enjoy it!
The room had spider webs in the corners of the ceiling with spiders. The carpet was so dirty we dared not walk bare foot and overall room conditions were very poor. The location was greatly over priced and we were very disappointed in the exorbitant price of such a shoddy room. Holiday Inn should be ashamed. They definitely have become a 3rd rate hotel.
Great location across from the beach. Restaurant is pricey but very good. The pool is very kid friendly. You can walk to the beach across the street but it’s not a beach you can layout on it’s too rocky. You need to head north or south a little more maybe a 5 min drive.
This hotel was only 11 min from Legoland.
$28 self parking fee per day is ridiculous, rooms are decent but nothing to write home about.
I was in town to visit Callaway Golf which is nearby and did not realize Legoland was literally right next door to hotel.
Advertised rate of $204 per night ended up costing $610 with taxes and fees.
I liked the location. It was not far from shops and it was the perfect location for our Legoland trip. Although, it was next to a motel. The building and property seemed well kept visually. It had the curb appeal to seem safe and nice. I liked that parking was close to our hotel room as well.
The play area for kids is amazing!! A huge pool, water play area, playground and an arcade too! So far my kid’s favorite place. They rather stay at the hotel and enjoy the giant swimming pool vs going to Legoland. Hoping to return in the future again.
I have stayed here before and chose to return. This hotel is basic but very clean and comfortable. The room has all advertised amenities and matched exactly the photos on Booking.com. Staff are friendly. I would stay here again in the future.
overall it is a very nice hotel tucked Away all by itself in a nice clean quiet area close to the freeway literally right next to it in about a block or two away from the ocean Legoland is right up the street as well by like four blocks

We booked this hotel for a last minute trip to Legoland. Great location and it was nice that the rooms had two beds. We enjoyed the pool and it was convenient to have breakfast there.
This is an ideal location to legoland California and the best Southern California has to offer. The variety of shops, restaurants and alike only a short distance from the hotel.
