It is a very beautiful place! We loved the waterfalls, lakes and the mountain areas! Uzungol was amazing. The cave was also very nice we loved the aya sofia and black sea, the parks for kids.
We had our own car so was really easy to travel around the city.

I'm really pleased I decided to go north and see Trabzon. Easy flight from/to Istanbul and the airport is only a few minutes away.
NB: if you're flying around Turkey your luggage allowance is likely to be quite a bit less than for your international flight into Turkey - depending on your ticket type.
The town itself is quite busy - in a good way - not overwhelming. Lovely central park square. Plenty of eateries, shops and market stalls.
I was only there 2 nights so booked an organised day trip to the Sumela monastery - be prepared for a bit of a walk, caves, the glass balcony, etc. It's worth doing a bit of comparison checking on who you go with: some tours are all in, some do not include entrance fees.
It's really beautiful and lush and totally different from Cappadocia and the south. Tried traditional rice pudding and the sweets made from boiled fruit.

Traffic in the city can get a bit overwhelming for tourists who rent a car, but people are very friendly and patient.
English is not spoken in most shops or restaurants, but people try help the best they can.

Trabzon is very nice place to visit. Cuisine and the vibe is lively. Some other tourist spots though are far from the center. But it is the travel experience that matters, so I really recommend to visit.
It's a very cozy hotel, love the walls :) it's old, but they are keeping it in the best way they can. The location is the best, super central but not too noisy in the night. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. Spending a weekend there, we also have been invited to a special party in the other 5 stars apart they have near the airport, and that was a nice and interesting culture night for us. They all have been such kind people to us, and if we go back to trabzon, for sure we know where to stay :) thank you all of you.
The staff was very helpful and very kind. Rooms were very spacious, actually they are apartments with two rooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Very nice location if you need to be close to the airport or on your way to other destinations around Trabzon. large space for parking and different amenities around such as restaurants and supermarkets. nice view to the airport and the Black Sea. Also the price worths for what you get. I will definitely come back if I go again to this part of Turkey.
Great location and facilities. Dont miss out on trying out the breakfast at the cafe outdoors as it was a wonderful experience. The staff were excellent and helpful. We arrived at 1 am and they offered to order us some food. They provided a baby cot. The rooms finishing are on par with 5 star hotels. The ac was cold, water heater worked great and the view is from another world! Im definitely coming back to the otel next time I come to trabzon.
The location of hotel near to meydan trabzon. Near to markets, shops and resturants. It will be great for kids and old people for walking nearby.. breakfast was nice and starbucks available in lobby of hotel. The hotel is one of the best in meydan trabzon compared by others. The best resturants nearby KALKAN UGLU traditional turkish food, Ahmet Usta for iskander and grills and ahmed zadah for sweets... and you have others.
This hotel is exceptional in terms of location, structure and room design. Staying in 700 years old building is quite a unique experience and feeling.

This hotel is recommended for visitors who are renting a car because it's around 30 km distance from Trabzon city centre. Also, the price for renting at this hotel is affordable for the amenities included. Further, my booking was a room with a sea view which is very spacious and well equipped.
Cleanliness was exceptional. The sea view was nice and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel's design and decor was really beautiful. It is close to the airport and if you need to go to the city, there's a minibus stop just across the street. Also the beach is a 15 min walk.
