We really had a good time at this property. Staff were extremely polite and helpful and made our stay memorable. We used the indoor swimming pool, saunas and massage facilities (special thanks to Mrs. Loredana - best massage therapist we had in Romania, so far).

It is a small town, I would definitely to visit again. There is a cafeteria " Afina bucovina" that I recommend to visit. You can also visit the top of the mountain with "telescaun". It is a nice place to just relax and walk around.

We went there during a busy month, August, and the place was lively. We strolled along the alleys of the Central Park where people can enjoy an ice-cream or kurttoskolac. Just before you enter the park, on the right, there's a nice restaurant though we had to wait a little for the food to be served. And if you love hiking, there are different paths you could enjoy. We were advised to follow the red cross path which took us to Obcina Mare where we enjoyed some good food and nice view at Cabana Gigi Ursu. Highly recommend it!
Excellent location. In particular, the women who seem to run the hotel - they do everything - were excellent. Maybe 4 women we saw over several days. Breakfast buffet was very good and they serve the coffee etc. and make sure everyone has what they need. The coffee was good and it was hot (not always the case in places). Our room was good size, as we opted for more room. Had day trips. We saw the painted Monasteries while staying in Suceava and took other day trips from Vatra Dornei, eg Ciocanesti which was great.
Such a kind and helpful staff-- we didn't speak the same language, but we made it work anyway. It is absolutely gorgeous there! I was thinking of staying in the center of town, but once I looked at the views from the windows, I knew I had to stay. Shops and restaurants are in the center of Vatra Dornei, and it is a bit of a far drive. But honestly it was worth it to be in the calm and quiet provided by Doru Muntelui. I would definitely recommend a stay at this place.
Staff was great, beautifull restaurant with food that was almost perfect. Breakfast had a big variety and everything seemed fresh, plus they have a very good coffee machine:). Spa was nice, warm inside pool and the temperature all around the spa area was very good also for smaller kids. It’s a perfect hotel for families and people that want to relax.
The room was really big compared to most of the hotels that we visited with the same number of stars.
The hotel is very nicely located between the park and the city center, walking distance to both of them. The reception staff is very kind and supportive, provided us with recommendations both for food and places to see.
The restaurant of the hotel is also very good, staff super nice and the food (mostrly traditional) really delicious.

Very good location surrounded by beautiful landscapes. It is close to Vatra Dornei and very close to Calimani National Park. Rooms are very tidy and you get at your disposal a fully equipped kitchen and barbecue outside. The lady who greets you is a lovely lady and she keeps the house exceptionally clean. I totally recommend the place!
Breakfast was rich, tasty and varied, part of it chosen from 4 options and served at a reasonable time. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was very kind and eager to give you all tourist information you needed about the area and tourism facilities. The hotel restaurant was also very good, with a very rich and varied menu.
was the worsts day on this site. they rent a room with 12sqm in a four stars hotel. the heating is set to maximum without any thermostatic control. the temperature rise to 28-30 degrees. the distance between wall and bed is less then 30cm. on reception was only one person for hotel and restaurant.
Kaban is an excellent hotel with great rooms, big spaces, comfortable beds, very nice design that value both traditional and modern elements, clean and quiet. The common living space, the library and sauna are great bonuses. The restaurant looks amazing and the food is diverse and high quality.
Hotel Dorna exceeded my expectations: the staff is very friendly, the standard double room is clean, big and confortable and the food from restaurant is tasty.
They also have a nice small indoor pool and a few saunas.
If I will return to Vatra Dornei, I will definetly choose Hotel Dorna.
Great stay at a difficult time of the year to find a room in Vatra Dornei (between Christmas and New Year). Very welcoming hosts who helped me booking restaurants, getting directions, cooking breakfast.

Very easy walk from the train station. Elegant old hotel carrying on traditions. Very high ceiling in the room with long curtains ... just my style. Loved the sauna and jacuzzi (extra fee worth it). Pretty walking nearby.
The vila is located nearby Vatra Dornei, in a very beautifull locality Dorna Arini. We like that is comfortable, big rooms and spotless clean. The guest were very attentive and polite.
