Immaculately clean. Spectacular view from the terrace. Delicious breakfast. Shower had incredible water pressure and HOT water (sometimes not the case we’ve found in other BnB’s). Great value!

The instructions for handling pick-up from the town's edge parking lot were perfect (can't drive in due to small roadways). The cute home is exactly how it appeared in pictures. There was good Wifi, heating, and hot water for the shower. All necessary toiletries, coffee, tea, and breakfast were provided. In addition, when the host tried to help us make dinner reservations and learned all the restaurants were closed for a party, she made us a wonderful dinner at her place instead. She also provided a labeled map that in conjunction with our prior research, helped us make sure we didn't miss anything interesting while we were in town.

The property was absolutely amazing from the historic artifacts displayed throughout, the encased boulder in the main bedroom, the comfortable beds and awesome breakfast hosted by Eloiza. The location was perfect and we loved our stay.

The apartment is clean and has all you need.
There are two bathrooms, one is upstairs next to the bedrooms and the second is downstairs in the living room.
It is located in the outskirts of Relva and Monsanto village can be reached even by foot if the weather conditions allow so. There is short road 1.7 km long starts directly from the house and leads to the backyard of Monsanto.
There is wonderful view from the house.
Communication with the host via booking was good.
Nice neighbors that helped us with the parking.

Monsanto has been the highlight of our trip to Portugal and Spain so far.
It is so authentic and real, the buildings are amazing and the views are outstanding.
The walk up to the Castle is a little challenging but so worth the effort.
We were there for the medieval festival and were made very welcome by the locals and we had some memorable times there.
If you are in the Douro Valley, make the effort to head to Monsanto if you want to visit an authentic and historic village.

Monsanto is the most unique small town we visited on our 3wk trip to Portugal. You can start to see the massive boulders from the base of the hillside and then it's 5 km straight up winding narrow road. You will need your host to show you where to park.

It is a good idea to book a place for the night.
It is a good idea to book a place for the night. The views are so incredible and unique you will want to experience day and night in amongst the boulders. There is a wonderful hike to the ruins above the boulder village. There is spectacular lighting in the evening. The village is quite out of the way for travelling. This was our second visit to Monsanto so we knew to book for the night. Lots of unique places to eat. We ate at our hosts' spot and it was great. Once you arrive amongst the boulders, you don't have to leave until your stay is over. You can find all you need there.

Very unique.
Very unique. Great trekking up to the fort (short but steep). We really enjoyed the “rock village”. Our meal at Pestitos and Granitos was delicious. We recommend Monsanto fro those looking for a unique experience.

It's a very peaceful place with lots of great views and we found a lovely bistro to eat at. Some of the roads are very steep and you have to park and walk so for someone not so good on their feet this wouldn't be suitable

Breakfast was very, very good.
Breakfast was very, very good. Plentiful and the 1 st place that had scrambled eggs. The setting , room with very nice, and w/ stated excellence and environment. Elegantly decorated. Plenty of cold cuts and cheese. In any event, a morning feast for the eyes and stomach.
Monsanto is a beautiful stone town!! Our Hostess, Eloiza was very caring!! She fetched us with her little electric car to take our luggage to the cottage. Beautiful, clean house with everything we needed. We took our own food and made a lovely supper with friends in the big dining room of the nextdoor house. Super wonderful!! We went up to the castle late afternoon and had a lovely sunset before the rain set in. This house is a must to stay in when visiting Monsanto!!
Words cannot describe the views from Monsanto and the Old House, and pictures cannot describe how wonderful our time with Eloiza and Fernando was. They were such gracious hosts and made sure we felt at home and welcome. They helped with bags, made dinner reservations for us, gave us a wonderful history of Monsanto, and prepared a wonderful breakfast on our porch. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer! The sunset was amazing, but our hosts were even better.
Very good location, very kind owners, very typical house, great place to spend some days, well furnished and equipped! Just lovely. If you visit Monsanto it is an awesome place to rest and to prepare for the climb to the castle. On other opportunities I'll try to return.
The space is huge, there is a space to cook, you can step outside and have a nice view of the valley, the windows are protected with mosquito nets and it had AC
Very good location. Hotel street (Fernando Namora) too narrow to drive or park, best to park when you get there at the 6 or 8 space car park when you start seeing the first cafe. It is maybe 100 meters walk uphill to the hotel, okay with carry-on size luggage. Minimal breakfast with juice, tea/coffee, cheese, meat slices, bread rolls, and jam. Contrary to description, no outlet accessible from bedstand and no hair dryer.
The breakfast was delicious. The house keepers, Ingrid and Thorsten were wonderful! They made my stay extra special and although it was quick, I will always remember my stay here. Monsanto is a beautiful little town, a lovely walk away from the house. I can't wait to come back and spend more time walking the charming streets. Keep driving past the church when you arrive, you're almost there!
Incredibly friendly and helpful hostess, who helped transport the luggage to the cottage in her little e-car. The hostess also helped book the restaurant for dinner and served us a lovely breakfast on the porch.
Monsanto is out of this world. Definitely stay overnight, visit the castle ruins, and wander through the quaint village.
What a brilliant 5 star experience!
This area of Portugal is very remote and while there are villages there are no facilities like supermarkets or restaurants (that were open). The breakfast provided was excellent but there was no fridge or even tea making facilities in the room and no opportunity to have a meal in the hotel. This was unfortunate as there was no restaurant open within a 30km radius.
Absolutely loved our stay here. The room was very comfortable and the property is beautiful. Short drive or a hike up to Monsanto. Breakfast was lovely, and mostly sourced from the property. Ingrid was so helpful with recommendations, directions, and even helped us make dinner reservations. I highly recommend this property.
Great stay in Monsanto - this house is very warm, cozy and welcoming. It's also located in the very center of the medieval town and close to a parking spot. we had a very good stay here.
In terms of prices, this place was unbeatable, the price was half than other properties and it literally had no downsides.
Super cute, great view, wood burning fire place. Eloisa took a excellent care of us! Helped us with parking and even luggage. Trust me, it’s very big deal in Monsanto! I didn’t feel well because of my stomach and she made special fresh herbal tea which helped me a lot! Thank you so much
Great location. Stella was very welcoming. The area surrounding the hotel is amazing. Easily walkable to the castle and around the town. Wish we would have stayed 2 or 3 days to be able to walk around more. Breakfast was nice and very enjoyable talking with Stella.
GeoHotel offered modern facilities in the heart of a medevil location. Everything was above expectations, including breakfast. The staff very friendly and helpful with information. It was unfortunate our first visit was spoilt (see below), but we will return.
Breakfast essentials were already in the Fridge upon our arrival and fresh bread was delivered in the morning. The house was perfectly located in beautiful Monsanto right on the path to the Castle. Monsanto was the highlight of our trip to Portugal.
This is a wonderful place to stay. A little out of the way, but not hard to find, and close to Monsanto. During our stay, the oranges were ripe - and delicious. The breakfast was excellent, and Ingrid was very helpful. I'd love to return.
Excellent location and good value for a hotel of this quality. Very good breakfast in dining room with a view. Decent bed and bathroom. Kettle in room. Free parking close by.
