Lovely walks and nice restaurants to choose, from snacks to main meals. The Courtyard serves amazing food for a nice evening meal. There is a new Gastro Pub on the front which is very reasonably priced with good food and happy hour 18:00-20:00 with cocktails etc if you like a drink. You can visit Cabanas beach or Tavira Island both are excellent. Cabanas is kept very clean by local workers and there is a good choice of accommodation to fit most budgets. I would recommend this place to visit.

WE love this place ! East coast so different to the West. Cabanas, Fuseta & Santa Luzia are real bits of older Algarve & we love them.
Cabanas especially, its promenade [walkway] is great with its bars, shops, cafe's & restaurants set behind it & the view with its boats & the ferry to the great beach, Behind is a maze of little old streets with more cafe's & restaurants. Great !

It is a charming small town with a promenade along the lagoon and a boardwalk and a number of good restaurants. Evening walks along the boardwalk were always interesting with the fishing boats in the small harbour and there were a number of bars with views over the lagoon , perfect fo sun-downers.

Escaping dark November in the UK is always a treat.
Escaping dark November in the UK is always a treat. Cabanas was the perfect place to enjoy a gentle couple of weeks in lovely sunshine. Either strolling along the boardwalk to one of the local cafes for a coffee and Pastel de nata or walking over the Ria Formosa to Tavira past the salt flats you will have a wonderful time.
A lot of the restaurants are closed as the season has ended but O Coral was open and offers delicious food for lunch and dinner - highly recommended.

I like the ambience, the serenity the rooms were very decent and the staff were helpful. Food and drinks were great. Although I would recommend more intercontinental dishes. It was a lovely experience I would surely like to visit again.

We had stayed in a host of larger hotels across the Algarve, and chose Casa Viana, because we knew that it would be completely different, small, homey, sincere, with extremely warm owner and her brother. A real Portuguese Guesthouse. Each morning lovely breakfasts were offered. In the last century, the current owner's grandfather had used it as a factory for processing Octopuses. Boats to the island are just outside the door, and there are countless restaurants and bars just down the street.
This is a very well appointed apartment with most things a traveler is likely to need. There is just a sea view between two other blocks of apartments and what should have been a very comfortable balcony. It is a little off the beaten track but I've stayed at other hotels in the area so knew this in advance. I was hoping for some peace and quiet. But...
Excellent location. 3 pools in the Golden Club, Basketball court volley ball gym.
Cabanas is a great village and the resort is right on the seafront with a private boat service to the island beach. Michele had give us a list of the best bars and restaurants and she got it spot on
We will definitely be back again this year
Room was in an amazing part of the hotel, overlooking the river / sea. The views were breathtaking. Excellent value for money. Stayed on B & B basis. Would highly recommend a stay in low season. Would imagine it would be a different place in the summer (busy with people)
The apartment was nice and clean. The kitchen was equipped with anything and everything that you can think of! Just amazing. The restaurants, supermarket, cafes are like 5 minutes walk. The boats that take you to the beach also few minutes walking.
The size of the property was great for our family and it was easy to walk to all amenities in Cabanas De Tavira. I highly recommend this property and would book again without haste. Special thanks to Wendy and Pola for making our stay even better.
Good and quiet location in Cabanas de Tavira, access to the boat (that goes to the beach) provided by the hotel (using Tour Train). Lot's of green places to play around with the kids and easy to park the vehicle inside close to the house.
Nice building, if a bit tricky to find at first. We loved the little balcony. Great location, surrounded by lovely traditional houses and just a few steps to the sea. We didn't do Cabanas de Tavira justice as this was such a short stay.
The hotel is very basic but very clean and appeared to be recently freshly painted. There also seemed to be lots for kids to do in the summer when it would be busier but for us it was perfect as we just needed somewhere clean and basic.
One of the most beautiful locations, settings and hotel I've stayed in. Unique is the word. A fortress overlooking the sand islands and the see, a lovely honesty bar to enjoy the evening from the fortress walls. amazing.
great communication. very quiet. apartment well equiped and spotless clean. nice resort town. easy train rides to nearby towns. short ferry to beach where it was possible to walk forever.
Great location, nice perk with the train and boat service to the beach. Liked that bar, restaurant, supermarket, pool etc were right there. Full kitchen was great too.
