It was very appealing; modern, clean, spacious rooms with a small kitchen and balcony; close enough to the cruise port such that we could walk our bags over ourselves and the staff was accommodating to our needs They arranged a lovely tour of Papeete for us last minute

We love to walk. I like that a rooftop restaurant and the Brew place were not too far. We actually walked our luggage to the cruise terminal. Which was not as daunting as we thought. A taxi was parked ready to take people to the cruise ship but we would have had to wait for two more groups to go. The bed was large and comfy. Air con was good. We had great fun exploring the shops, and harbourfront. During our stay we did a really fun jeep excursion.

Vairea was very kind and helpful. The location is perfect as it’s not far outside the city centre. Within walking distance and yet far enough from the noise. We enjoyed watching the sky change colours at sunset.
Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Fare D'hôtes Tutehau is located in the Farii piti neighborhood. It is 15 minutes' walk from the heart of Papeete.

The town of Papeete is very nice and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Had it not been for our unacceptable accommodations, we would have loved our stay in Papeete. If you go, be sure to stay at a reputable hotel and avoid private Air B&B places. We ended up staying at a dump and no hotel rooms were available because of a cruise that was leaving the next day.

Papeete at first glance could be a nice place to stay. Warm weather, good food and drinks. Seafront promenade is just gorgeous. But a lot of homeless people and dogs are as decay for the city. Well, some of the US cities like Phili are the same...

The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it.
The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it. Food is amazing, I had great meals out and the Carrefour supermarkets are better stocked than my local supermarkets here in the UK. I just liked the vibe. There are lots of places to eat and drink, decent shopping to be had and I liked the people. The port where you can catch boats to other islands is in town too!

I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I loved the fresh pastries - especially the bread sticks
I found finding a place in town was better for us, as the cost for taxi's was very pricey.
I would avoid staying out in the suburbs and ensure to have an offline currency converter handy as there were times i got caught off guard and ended paying double the amount I intended.

Little to do in the city aside from shopping.
Little to do in the city aside from shopping. That all stops on Sundays entirely, and largely disappears on Saturday afternoons too. Public transport is almost impossible, not helped by the website or the tourism office. There are no beaches walkable from the city centre, so you're left needing to find a tour, a public bus (not on sundays though), or renting a car/scooter.

Papeete is a good destination. Don' stay at hotes downtown.
Papeete is a good destination. Don' stay at hotes downtown. Too hard n to get around with uneven footpaths and cars parked were pedestrians should have access. Stay at a resort west of the airport
This hotel gave us mixed feelings. The suite was very nice and clean, looked recently renovated. The lobby as well, looks very good. The outside of the hotel though, looks really bad, and so does the swimming pool area, with missing tiles, and fitness devices deposited near the pool.
Hotels in Papeete are very expensive, but this one was not cheap either. The room looked 4*, but the outside looks like a 2*. It's a pity, as with some renovation work it would be an ok hotel.
A good thing is the hotel has a very spacious garage.
Leili Home is a very comfortable and well located apartment perfect for a short or long stay in Papeete. It had everything we needed, was tastefully furnished, well appointed and so close to restaurants, the supermarket and an easy walk into the main part of town. The host was incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive and for a small fee even drove us to the airport for our late night flight. Best of all the apartment was exceptional value for money. Would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is perfect if you need a cheap place to lay your head before going to the airport. That's what we needed and it totally served its purpose. That said my daughter and I arrived late at night from one of the islands and that situation didn't feel ideal- the area wasn't very friendly feeling. Staff was super nice. Facilities were clean, but barebones- again, if you are staying for one night before or after the airport, it works!
This was our first time visiting Tahiti the French Polynesian and our time there was incredibly amazing. The staff was very friendly and incredible! The food is delicious! Every thing about this hotel is amazing. My husband and I definitely miss this beautiful hotel and the entire staff. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. We will definitely visit again and recommend this hotel to everyone who mentions going on vacation!
Excellent property, clean, spacious rooms and excellent onsite restaurant, e.g. among the best pizza I've had anywhere. Great ambiance/some views, and tropical landscaping. Free shuttle to/from property (message/call ahead to arrange). Quiet location, yet walkable to downtown Papeete and Gare Maritime (if you don't have lots of luggage). Walkable to Papeete waterfront park/area (nice!) and to a large supermarket.
The hotel is located across the street from the ferry station which was extremely convenient for me as it was my first time in Tahiti and I planned to visit Moorea via a ferry. If you like to walk, it’s also nearby the market and Blvd Pomare. The concierge service was exceptional, they helped me navigate the city with ease; that’s is the reason I’ve actually booked accommodations there when I return from Moorea
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming! We enjoyed using the pool and relaxing before we went to Mo'orea the following day. It was only a 5-10 minute walk from most attractions in Papeete like the market and food truck park. We stayed here on our first night but had such a nice experience that we came back again before we flew back to the US.
I’ve stayed here now on several occasions, it’s the best value place in town & better than some of the cheaper hotels.
It’s everything you’d expect from a backpackers hostel.
It’s in the best location in town opposite side of the road from the food trucks & close to the Moorea ferry terminal, bars and restaurants.
Nice spot ,close to aeroport ,not so far from center ,host are lovely and so helpful, they can take and drop U to airport or to the city any time of the day for little price compared to taxi and they also orgonize cheaper hiking and tour of Tahiti
Lovely place if U are travelling budget
I will recommend this place
The owner was really nice! She kindly booked a taxi to the airport for me and prepared breakfast in early morning. The bed room and common area looked lovely. Even though the property is not close to water, just staying in this Tahitian room would be valuable. You need to pay on site but you can use credit cards.
I ve booked about a 100 hotels through Booking.com, i can fairly say that Fare Rae rae ranks in top 10 list. Nicolas and Heirui(such a sweetheart)will do their best to make yourself at home. Definitely my go-to place in Tahiti! Oh and the 2 adorable cats made my stay even more enjoyable.
Like a capsule pod room but better! Shared facilities & common area were immaculate. Central location, directly across from ferry port, 5 min walk to Papeete Market. Has a rooftop bar & restaurant. 24 hour check in, luggage storage available on check out. Can’t fault this place!
Everyone was very nice. They arranged our transportation from the ferry, to the hotel, then to the airport. The food was very good. Everything was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. The black sand beach was very silky. Beautiful grounds.
The grounds were wonderful and so was the swimming pool. I loved eating breakfast over looking the beach, superb views. The receptionist was very helpful when I arrived and arranged all taxis and airport transfers as requested
The hotel was exactly as you'd expect from a Hilton property. No real surprises or individuality. They're all similar: clean, great wifi, luxury services, etc. The best part of our stay was the concierge.
Unfortunately, due to an early flight (we had to leave at 6:20 am to the airport) we could not have breakfast at the hotel, but the reception did arrange a take away breakfast that we had at the airport.
Located close to downtown Papeete and shopping. Dinner in Le Velvet was exceptional and service throughout the hotel was excellent and very accommodating. Hotel was very clean.
The location is great for tourist areas of Papeete. The property is well equipped and comfortable. The owner is most helpful is all respects. The airport pickup is very welcome.
Wonderful staff, always pleasant and helpful.
Perfect location to explore Papeete and Tahiti.
Very short walk to the ferry terminal or the huge
market. Clean and neat hostel.
