Community Homestay is a network of 15 private families who rent a room of their homes. It's managed by a central office where they match the visitors with the hosts: it's a great way to support the local economy and community.
The problem is that our room was quite different from the description available on Booking (!!)
Our host was a lovely Nepali family living in the centre of Panauti village, they were really nice and made us feel at home. But the accomodation was so different from the description on Booking: in the house there was no sink (!) nor shower, only a WC. The beds were wooden boards with 3cm mattress (!) where sleeping was impossible, we spent most of the night well awake for the back pain. Of course the problem is not the host family but the Homestay office who must provide accurate info about the reality. We paid 80€ which is the triple of a 3*** hotel (!)

I enjoyed everything about this place. Deb and his family were very kind and loving. They treated me like family and I learnt a lot from them. I had a very relaxing stay and it was nice to reconnect with nature. I’d highly recommend this place. Thank you!

We liked dinner and breakfast very much
All the people of the hostel were very friendly
They left us completely free to go our own way
The room had two different vieuws of the mountains and
evey day was warmed up by the sun.
I passed through Panauti and got the bus to Khopasi and...
I passed through Panauti and got the bus to Khopasi and hiked to Balthali over suspension bridges and through forest paths. Panauti itself was wayyy less busy than Kathmandu and the people were pleasant and very helpful.
