Our stay was perfect. To be completely honest, there were a few (very!) minor things to improve on: some of the staff was obviously new to the job, the wine list was composed of one red and one white wine, some of the facilities were not finished yet (e.g. dive shop). That being said, everyone was super-friendly, helpful, motivated - we had an absolutely great time, my daughter and me. No problem stayed unsolved. The rooms were more than comfortable, the architecture of the place is beautiful, the setting on the beach and near the pool is gorgeous. If somehow possible, we will return, hopefully with all of my three daughters.
Warmest thanks to the management of the hotel and of the group (and to the operations team), who are doing a difficult job in a complicated legal, tax, technical, etc. environment, but who recruited a team of motivated and cheerful young people putting real effort in their work, who are thriving for perfection, and who earned my admiration for the open-minded attitude to improvement and learning. Bravo!
On a side note: we hiked in the jungle, we went for diving, was real fun. All (perfectly!) organised by the resort.

There are western and Malaysian menu options at the resort's only restaurant - a bit limited in option but for two night's stay it works for us.

A few restaurants serving Malay, Chinese and International dishes at affordable prices. Can rent motorcycles or bicycles to move around. A light hike to a waterfall sight. A perfect place for serious diving experience and quiet relax vacation, not a flashy tourist spot. Hence do research well if choose Kampung Juara as the transport fee to Marine Park or popular ABC beach is quite pricey. Love the place and definitely will return

Tioman is a beautiful place to explore sea life and some jungle trekking. You can see variety of sea life like Turtle, sharks, squids, sting ways and wide range of different fishes. Water is super clean.

Do your homework, know the place you're staying and which jetty to get off from. Be respectful of the locals and your surroundings, manage your expectation. If you intend to go around (without renting bikes), it will be helpful to have comfortable footwear. Get in touch with the local guides to take you around or better, for a hike to the mountains. Dive, snorkel or even better, take the kayak and explore as much as you can. Take note of the operation hours of the eateries (ask the locals) as mostly open only for specific meal time. Have fun!

We loved this island, the rainforest is amazing with some beautiful waterfalls, cool water to swim and fabulous wildlife.
The beaches are pristine, no rubbish, wide stretches of sand and crystal clear water, great snorkelling with reefs and fishes a plenty.
Food and accommodation is good and reasonably priced .
We walked everywhere and got a taxi to and from the port which was a truck - we stood up in the back and it was great fun. This is one of our favourite islands in the world.

We stayed in Juara beach only. Nice and relaxing but enough options with snorkelling trips, scuba, hiking, swimming, motorcycle hire, kayaking etc so you don’t get bored.
Some restaurants have very slow service and limited menu but there’s enough good ones like Rimba and Sun Cafe which are both really good.

for a food lover, you able to try the different taste and types of food in the island for example malay food and even western, , with the sea breeze and sea view, the spending might be more expensive than the off island maybe due to the tourist place, but the beach and sand are priceless, you can relax on the beach by doing nothing! It is a amazing experience to stay at tunamaya resort..staffs are very friendly and helpful..from welcoming us during our arrival until we departed from the hotel..the resort is very serene and it is good place to go for some healing…plus we had wonderful time snorkelling at tioman island as it offers very magnificent corals and variant shades of fishes..overall tioman is a great place to take a break from hustle and bustle of city life while enjoying its nature and islands..😊😎
The location is great, because it is seafront. Quiet and peaceful at night. This place also offers snorkeling package which comes with meals plan. The meals cooked are delicious and served in small size buffet style. However, foods are easy to find in the area. Hosts are also friendly, helpful and attentive.
The 2 "beach houses" are really cute, new, clean and with nice decoration. The bathroom is almost like a 4 star hotel's ;) Directly facing the sea and practically on the beach. One house has a detached patio with a hammock, really nice! Eno and his wife are always around and happy to help.
