Semporna is where you have to take boats to go to the nearby...
Semporna is where you have to take boats to go to the nearby island like Mabul, Bumbum or Mataking for vacation or just to go to diving sites. Small town but you can find everything that you need there. They even have Starbucks now. If you want to save some cash, just stay at the hotel/hostel in Semporna and just take a daily trip for your diving / snorkeling / island hoping. It's so much easier to find food here in Semporna

Semporna is a city that located in Sabah state of Malaysia . The city is blessed with their beautiful natural environment such as Sea , Island and their Hill . Their local people is very friendly and you can buy so much seafood with cheap price . Overall if you want come to Malaysia especially Sabah state then you must go to Semporna to feel their unique environment and beautiful sea . Dont worry about the accomodation and transportation because local people there always ready to give you a guide and they also can speak english as well .

The majority of people from Europe, the US, Japan and China who went to Semporna are divers or the least snorkelers. The main attraction is Sipadan which is one of the most beautiful places to dive in the world. There are numerous resorts with best facilities for diving, The waterfront at Semporna is the place to go for seafood restaurants.

Semporna's islands are amazing and the sea is beautiful.
Semporna's islands are amazing and the sea is beautiful. However, The Taowu Airport and Semporna have a long distance. I suggest that tourists not book early or late night flight to avoid taking taxi by yourself. This may cause RM 150 fare. You can ask your hotel for a shared van to your hotel. In this case, you might just spend RM40 per person.

The only reason to come to Semporna is to go snorkelling and...
The only reason to come to Semporna is to go snorkelling and island hopping at the nearby islands. If we weren't doing this, it would have been a waste of a night's holiday. The snorkelling was excellent in terms of the reefs and the different varieties of sea life we saw but I don't think safety was on the minds of the boat crew - we were left to drift far from the boat and had to flag them down to come and get us, they weren't watching. It was scary. I also thought the amount of rubbish on Mataking Island was disgusting. I understand that some of this would have drifted in from the sea but even still I think the daily tour operators who go there should have some sort of responsibility to clean it up.
Location was wonderful. There is a kitchen i can use to cook me a meal since im a solo traveller. Staff was very helpful. Free toast in the morning and unlimited coffee and tea the whole day and the hot and cold water dispenser wow i really feel like im taken care of. Just book airport transfer with the front desk and also they have arranged me a wonderful day tour. The island and the sea water is so clear that you forgot where you are. Haha.
Will come again to stay if im coming Semporna. ^^
The best resort/hotel we have been to in whole Malaysia! It is amazing! The staff is very nice, the houses clean and big, breakfast and dinner amazing! All freshly prepared and cooked. The view is amazing! The sea water so clear, you can swim in the turquise water and snorkel. So calm and realy peaceful. We also did all the snorkeling trips and they were all amazing! This was the perfect place for a family of 4! Thank you
The hotel interior feels like a different world ! The bed is comfy, the toilet is comfortable too and it would be great for a good night rest! The staff were very helpful in getting us snorkelling trips around Semporna and recommended good restaurants. The locations is great too, its right by the pier where boats drops off or picks up tourists. Restaurants, supermarkets are all walking distance.
I felt very welcomed. Kris and Dodongo did everything to please me. The room has a very comfortable bed. The whole property is Very clean and the breakfast tasty. Location is convenient and close to the jetty, also in walking distance to the bus station.. I can recommend this Hotel! Good value for money.
Cosy and comfortable rooms with good air conditioning and a nice open common area. Very affordable in comparison to other hostels/hotels in Semporna considering it's similar to a pod, however, it's a private room. Definitely more for those who like to keep to themselves.
My favourite place in semporna - I always try to stay here when I can.

The place is near to Hospital Semporna. The location is within walking distance to shops and few restaurants and a laundromat.
The room has air-conditioner and the shower has water-heater. The space in room was adequate to pray in the room.
Room in the shipping container was small but comfortable. They offer a free shuttle to the city centre or Semporna jetty. For breakfast I recommend Green Cafe, that is close by, and for dinner Restoran Ikan Bakar, 3 min from the property.
The amazing hospitality.. i stayed there before and after returning from spending some days in Mabul and they kept my big things and my valuables. Also the place is super clean. Would def stay again if i visit Semporna.
