Hotel, Hotel Boutique Rivera del Rio, was close enough to walk to places, had a lovely bar and pool, excellent service. There was a good variety of neighborhoods & things to do with room for more to do, friendly people. I enjoyed walking along the boardwalk, especially in the evenings and nights. Cafe de Artistes, The Blue Shrimp, and Mar Y Vino were all fantastic places to eat. If you're staying at one of the beachfront resorts, most places to eat and go shopping at will be easy to walk to. From Old Town, things are still walkable. You'll be glad you took Ubers and taxis in the hotter months. Uber is reliable, both rides booked in advance and those rides requested on the fly. I'd come back again but perhaps in the cooler months when it will be more comfortable to walk around.

American prices, too much junk for sale, far too many street vendors. Constantly harassing people as anywhere you go. Taxis are plenty and cheap. Nice artwork. Very dirty with garbage piled on the corners. Beautiful sunsets every night.

Puerto Vallarta is a wonderful place to visit - in particular the Zona Romantica, where we stayed. The weather was gorgeous, and the ocean was warm. We ate at some great restaurants, enjoyed shopping within easy walking distance from where we were staying, and enjoyed the active night life as well. It's a great place for a relaxing, romantic vacation.

The weather in Puerto Vallarta is amazing.
The weather in Puerto Vallarta is amazing. We have been in Puerto Vallarta in 2023 and again in 2024 (10 day trips each year) and the weather is a sunny copy-paste every single day. Make sure to also visit old Vallarta, it has shopping, good food and night life! Nuevo Vallarta is amazing and more relaxing, but there are not as many things to do. It depends what you're looking for!

Puerto Vallarta is not part of old Mexico so it is not a "history" or archeological tour destination. But, the food is great, the people wonderful, and just a very relaxing beach destination.

The ocean front location was spectacular. We sat on our terrace and listened to the sound of the waves. We really enjoyed being on the ground floor and walking directly out to the pools. The condo was the perfect size for two people. The condo is very close to a grocery store and several great restaurants. Ubers were readily available and affordable. The bus stop is nearby. We went downtown and to the Romantic Zone several time. Great location for seeing Puerto Vallarta and beyond.
This was our first time staying at the Sheraton in Puerto Vallarta. We booked three rooms for our family during the Christmas holidays, and we were very happy with our choice of property. We loved the beautiful grounds, the friendly staff, and the proximity to Old Town and the Malecon, Our rooms were very clean and nice and the beds were comfortable. Our room included the buffet breakfast, which we enjoyed in the main restaurant overlooking the ocean. We'll definitely return.
Everything I needed was right there. The pools were great, views were great and the service was what I had expected. I read a lot of poor reviews prior to going and I do not think they were fair- this is not a 5 star luxury stay. It is a comfortable, beautiful all inclusive hotel that has everything you need! The Italian restaurant was yummy, staff was kind and the buffet is what I expected of a hotel buffet! My room was clean every day and so were the other hotel facilities.
I loved the location near the beach and being at the end of a street blocked from thru traffic. The rooms were fantastic, very clean and loved hearing the ocean waves hitting the beach. The staff kept people out of the area at night so it was nice and quiet. There was a pool on the beach and some rooms had private pools. Several friends had rooms and the staff did not give us a hard time about going to the other rooms. They also supplied bottled water at the front desk.
I stayed in two different rooms here. The double economical room was attractive and comfortable but had a strong smell of damp . The larger room with a balcony is in need of renovation. However, they were clean. The staff were very friendly. I extended my stay because of the downtown location and near to the Malecon, beach and bus stops. Puerto Vallarta's accommodation is expensive so this hotel was reasonable value.
It's a good sized space right across from the beach, there is an area marked off allowing you some privacy on the beach with chairs and tables provided. The blue chairs folks next door will even come wait on you while waiting there. The hotel area is nice, and it gets quiet around 10pm during the week and closer to midnight on weekends. Overall, there's no issue sleeping here.
It is a bit far from the center of Puerto Vallarta, means you are not bothered from loud music that often fills the streets of Mexico. Instead, you wake up with the birds' singing every morning. The intensity of the jungle is amazing. Good place to relax.
Rooms are big with air conditioner, fan and kitchen. Beds, floor and shower room were kept clean which was great.
spotlessly clean and the staff are exceptional. I cannot express how much they make the hotel. They make great efforts to interact, learn the names of guests and help them relax. great location on the beach, pool area is great and no issue getting sun beds. love the inclusion of kayaking and yoga. great choice of drinks on all inclusive package.
The hotel is being reno'd only the small 8' diameter dipping pool was available. The staff was very courteous and responsive.. housekeeping was spot on. Interior rooms and furniture in need of upgrades... likely not to happen soon because owner is selling. Based on conditions this is a 2.5 star property, not a three.
We had the all inclusive rate and it was the best we traveled with 10 people in our party the hotel and pools were amazing all the different restaurants and bars made it super easy to want to stay at the property. Even when we left the resort we wanted to go back would highly recommend to anyone.
The room, the beach, pool bar, all of the restaurants were amazing. The staff was so helpful and friendly! We enjoyed the welcome drinks and tequila tasting as well as the beautiful scenery of the compound. It really was the best hotel I've stayed in Puerto Vallarta.
Great location, very friendly staff. I have stayed at a few similarly priced hotels in Puerto Vallarta, and this was by far the most comfortable bed. I was expecting it to be louder but heard nothing with my street view room.
Everything was wonderful - the friendliest, most knowledgeable staff, amazing breakfast, wonderful views over Puerto Vallarta and eclectic and lovely rooms. I adored this hotel. Just really special.
1. Right on the beach
2. Two pools, one rooftop one is very nice.
3. View from balcony of hotel room was great.
4. Decent variety of food at buffet, although overly salty
I live five hours south of Puerto Vallarta and always stay in a hotel the nights before and after my flights from/to PVR. This was the best location ever.
