Hiroshima is a great city. The peace park and museum were very touching. It is incredible to see how the city has been rebuilt and is thriving. The day trip to Miyajima island is a must with a hike to Mt. Misen and seeing Otorii shrine.

Hiroshima is a thriving city now, which we were glad to see.
Hiroshima is a thriving city now, which we were glad to see. We walked around on our own one afternoon and had an excellent (and moving) local tour of the Peace Park and related memorials the next morning. For lunch we had a delicious local Okonomiyaki. For dinner we tried oysters done in five different preparations, as it is another specialty of the area. (They are quite large, however, and not our favorite.)
We never got to the castle or gardens, and did not visit Miyajima, which is why I would have liked one more night. But it was enough time for the basics. We would recommend that everyone take the time to visit Hiroshima. It is part of our collective history and essential now to understand the dangers we all face in today's volatile world.

We were independent travellers.
We were independent travellers. Hiroshima was easily accessible by public transport especially with the 'Free' JR pass hop on hop off bus. 3 separate circuits gave us plenty of choice. The 'Peace Park' precinct was a great focus for a day or even two.

Food for vegetarians is a bit of a challenge in Hiroshima; Margherita from Pizza Hut was atrocious.
Getting around is easy with good public transport.
Would avoid a budget hotel like Apa in future.

It is a powerful albeit sobering visit.
It is a powerful albeit sobering visit. The horror of the event is so clear when visiting the museam and monument. The town is loverly and eveywhere you see signs, art and street names evoking lover and peace. a testiment to the people who live there choosing positive sentiments today given the recent past. I think it is a good thing for prople to see and contempate.
Excellent location: 8-10 min. walk from the Hiroshima Peace memorial, 4 min. walk from the streetcar that takes you to and from the main train station, 5 min. walk from the shuttle that takes you to the airport. Restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and rooftop bar in the building right next to it.
While some things may look a bit dated, this hotel’s charm is precisely in its simplicity. All amenities are available and everything works fine.
Last but definitely not least, the staff is fantastic. They were all super nice and diligent.
Clean, modern business hotel short tram ride from Hiroshima station and walking distance to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Also featured a reasonably-priced buffet with both western and Japanese breakfast offerings. Helpful and friendly staff; check-in time is 3PM but we dropped off our bags a few hours early and walked to the Peace Park with no problems, when we got back they had placed our bags in our rooms which was a nice touch. It was also fun to visit the spa on the top floor if you want a gentle introduction to onsen!
The room was spacious and quite modern compared to other Japanese hotels at this price point. Location was okay -- we ended up just walking to/from places like Hiroshima Station, Hiroshima Castle, and the Peace Park because the weather was nice, and the street cars took about the same time as walking did. The staff had enough English knowledge to help us check-in using English; we never expect such language proficiency in a foreign country, so it is certainly an added bonus worth noting. Would recommend this hotel.
The hotel is located perfectly to see everything in Hiroshima, from the Peace Memorial Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome to Hiroshima Castle and the shopping areas, and is very well connected by tramway. On top of that, there's a convenience store right besides the entrance of the hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about how to get around and what to see as well. Finally, the room is small but it had everything I needed to enjoy my stay at Hiroshima.
The view is impressed, the beds are so comfy, location is good to the cable train, close to the Hiroshima atomic bomb dome.
The only thing that I didn’t like and gross me out was the lady cleaning at the reception/bar rooftop area… She was cleaning the bathroom, bar counter, tables, doors with the same cleaning clothes. I think that its extremely gross, bathroom and table where you eat, cross contamination. I will think twice before use hotel in the future.
The staff was extremely polite, and even took us to the elevator and bowed politely to us before it closed. The other staff at the reception always greets and smiles to the guests. The property was also very close to Hiroshima Station. The room is immaculately clean, spacious if by Japan standard, with modern facilities plus a very welcoming atmosphere. This is the best hotel by far on all of my trips to Japan! I highly recommend this hotel!
What a beautiful hotel. Located right on the station it was the perfect start to our short but sweet stay in Hiroshima. It was the only time in our 3 week trip that we booked into a luxury, Western style hotel but it was really nice to do that for one night (especially after an emotional afternoon at the A-Bomb Dome, Peace Park and museum). A really, really nice hotel with beautiful facilities and wonderful staff.
Modern cozy and clean room, very nice bathroom. I was happy that my request for a room on higher floor was regarded, thank you so much! The room also had a fantastic view. Friendly and fast check-In. The hotel is 5 min walking distance from Hiroshima train station and 10-15 min walking distance to the city center, so right in between both.
Good location, near to common tourist attractions like the atomic bomb dome (walkable distance). Easy transport to Hiroshima station. There is free breakfast available, and especially love the eggs and fresh smoothies. Many food options all around. Hotel rooms were clean, but old and had a slight musty smell. Staff were friendly :)
Very comfy and location is convenient to the Hiroshima Station as it is about a 10 minute walk. The staff are very friendly and will help you with any questions you may have . Rooms are very clean and this was one of the best hotels we had stayed in during our trip to Japan.
The Sotetsu is an nice hotel that is located close to the train station in Hiroshima. The staff was nice in that they agreed to hold our bags until our rooms were ready. I appreciated the fact that they tried to help us get a cab in a busy time of their day.
- Amazing view of the Hiroshima bay, large room and paid for water front view 1,100 JPY per person per night
- Ferry direct from Grand Prince Hotel to Miyajima island was a great plus
- Good breakfast with a large variety of western and Japanese items
The hotel was the perfect location to stay in Hiroshima. The views were amazing, both in my room and at breakfast. The staff was very attentive and the venue was clean. I loved that they had laundry facilities (which my next hotel did not).
We stayed on exec floor and had incredible view towards Hiroshima Castle and the hills beyond. An older hotel but very clean, spacious rooms and very good customer service. Bathroom was well stocked with quality toiletries.
Brilliant hotel in the city centre of Hiroshima. It provided absolutely everything what was needed for our stay. Breakfast in this place was fantastic. Great buffet and a lot of selection for anyone's taste.
The location was excellent! The hotel is at the main Hiroshima station, so it's super convenient. Besides the trains, the station also has bus stops, so it's easy to move around the city from there.
Great value for money! Staff was really great and helped us with our luggage forwarding. The hotel is very close to Hiroshima station. The rooms are small but have everything you need.
