The hotel is beautifully situated on Lake Ashi, right beside Hakone Shrine and the Tori gate out in the lake. It’s pretty close to the main train station. The (restaurant) staff was pleasant. We enjoyed the onsite onsen. The town shut down early, so it was convenient having the Box Burger right there. Pro-tip - Five minutes away is a cute shrine “Hien Waterfall” that should be visited.

    Beautiful nature and atmosphere.

Beautiful nature and atmosphere. The trip to Lake Ashimoto was lovely and the scenery impressive. The highlight of our stay in Hakone was dipping in the local onsens, we loved the experience and the feeling of relaxation after a bath. We ate at different local restaurants, mostly found via map apps, which made great food at reasonable prices. We used the Hakone Pass to get around using trains, cable cars and the ropeway, all very convenient and easy to use. We could have used a couple extra days to visit some of the attractions in the area, that we did not have enough time to enjoy.

Unbeatable price for Hakone. This is an annex to the Suimei hotel across the street, so you get to use their onsens without paying the high price of accommodation. Very nice onsen, especially on very cold February days. Good location just a few minutes from the train station and bus depot, as well as a 7-11 and Lawson and lots and lots of places to eat. A good-sized mini-frig. A top sheet on the bed as well as a comforter. Very effective heater in a small room.

The stay at Hakone Suisen alone made it worthwhile to travel to Hakone. The room, property, and onsens are great. The staff are wonderful and do a great job of being attentive while giving you plenty of space and freedom to enjoy yourself. While there's not much to do/eat within walking distance, the hotel is only a short bus ride away from Gora or Hakone Yumoto. The breakfast selection while small was delicious and as a bonus they had awesome specialty coffee.

Location was a little difficult to get to as it was located up a steep hill, but in return, you get the most beautiful view in the Hakone area of Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji. The indoor and outdoor onsen were small but usually timing works out that you have the bath to yourself. It was more than enough, and the view from the outdoor onsen was beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer! The villa was very spacious and many amenities were provided.

Incredible accommodation considering the price. Quiet and relaxing. Nice location easily accessible by bus (free bus if you have hakone free pass) and decently good access to owakudani both via the shore of lake ashi or coming back via the hakone cable car, hakone tozan train line then a short bus ride back to accommodation. Onsen is incredible particularly the outside one and the kitchen common area was a lot better than most.
