Everything was perfect. Amazing staff, facilities, rooms, golf simulator. Honestly the first time I have ever paid for a more luxury room and thought it was worth over the value I paid.

Booked a one night stay as a stop gap and loved it. Thankfully arrived early enough to dump our bags and head to the beach for the afternoon, not too crowded on a Saturday (May) and had a lovely swim, fish but not great visibility and some rubbish but had worse.
Had a great seafood dinner, live abalone and buzzing street life.
Stayed at Minori villa which was lovely, amazing view but bit of a climb. The shrine with the big tree was the best temple experience both 9pm in deadly silence and with the crowds the next day.

It's a beautiful town/city, not very many foreign tourists (that I saw). It's a great place to wind down and relax on a beach on one side and nature on the other. I don't like hot springs but I heard that they are also very nice there.

The location at the ocean side, with stunning views from Atami hills, the little fishing port and its numerous eateries with freshest possible ingredients, busy shopping avenue at the train station, historic Kiunkaku Villa and garden, serving as the town's cultural centre, where I spent hours strolling and talking to various artists and artisans exhibiting their work, charming ladies at the villa's cafe, and the gem - MOA museum, what a great find! All this makes me long to come to Atami yet again during my next trip to Japan :-)

I didn't technically stayed in Atami city center, but a small town called Ajiro which is only two stations away from Atami, and our ryokan is 4 minutes walk from the station. It's a serene place with perfect combination of sea view and hot spring. The town is small, but it has quite some awesome restaurants ran by local people. I would recommend Satsuki Sushi and Shogyo Seafood Restaurant, premium quality food with very affordable price.
Ajiro is definitely an underrated town. Since the town center is both close to the JR train station and the seaside, it's a good place to stay and easy to travel between the izu towns by JR.

The hotel is beautiful.
The hotel is beautiful. Room is spacious and has amazing views. Hotel staff are attentive and helpful. Onsen was old but facilities are working fine. Location is near Atami attractions.
I wasn't aware that I have to make reservation for dinner even though the booking made was half board. Upon check in, I was told that I will only have Western dinner for my whole stay. I knew the hotel has a French restaurant but I didn't know that I have to state my choice of dinner in advance. Western dinner was ok, service at the French restaurant was excellent but the food quantity is too little (even for a small eater). On the second day, I requested for Japanese dinner but was told that Japanese restaurant was fully booked. After speaking with 6 different staff, the Japanese restaurant agreed to accommodate 2 more diners for one night but we had to eat our dinner at 5pm. My advice - please make reservation for dinner in advance. They have French and Japanese food to choose from.
The facility itself is amazing, having stayed in more than 50 hotels all over Japan, the quality and comfort offered by this hotel is second to none.
Right from checkin process, to check out it is flawless. The checkin is self and they have English option in the tablet as well. They have table tennis, a top class onsen, more than relaxing massage chairs and 5 star level breakfast. The view from room is amazing and there is absolutely no scope left in quality and luxuriousness of the amenities provided especially at this price.
My stay at Maruya Guest House (Capsul Hotel) in Atami was wonderful! The location was super convenient, just a short walk from Atami Station (15min) and close to the beach (5min). The staff were incredibly friendly and gave me excellent advice on restaurants, cafes, and must-visit spots around town, which made my trip even more memorable and special.
The guest house was spotlessly clean, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. You have access to the shared equipped kitchen and lounge area and the tea and water are complementary.
One of my favorite stays in Japan. This place is so cozy and comfortable. The owner, Mayo, is amazing. She takes great care of everyone and is super friendly. Honestly meeting her is what made my stay so great. She serves home cooked meals in the bar area downstairs, which has a cozy atmosphere and is a great place to meet people. The bunks are separate upstairs so it’s quiet and I got great rest. If I am in the area again I will definitely come back. It felt like a “home” atmosphere.
Excellent value, great location if travelling without a car, quiet rooms, excellent beds and a charming mini-breakfast included in the price. Friendly and helpful staff.
Easy automatic check in - with the assistance of the helpful reception.
Visit the 'MOA' nearby, up on the steep hill behind the hotel. Easier by bus > 'MOA', leaving from the train station nearby and walking back. This museum is amazing and offers an impressive panoramic view of Atami.
Nice tatami room with view to the ocean. Good coffee for breakfast. The lady at the reception was very friendly and always gave me free cookies and water when I left in the morning. I could only speak a couple if words Japanese and she only some English words but she still put in a lot of effort (with help from her phone) to ask me if everything is ok and gave me tips to check out in Atami.
This was the best stay I had while solo traveling in Japan. The staff were all so kind and inviting, amazing people. The rooms were all clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. The guesthouse is just a very small walk from JR Atami station, which makes it easy to get around town. If you're staying in Atami, this is the perfect place to choose to stay in
Located 5 min walk from Atami station in a quiet location. Older style traditional Japanese guesthouse. Tatami rooms with TV and aircon. Good value for money in this region. Host very helpful in showing guests around local attractions and providing snacks free of charge. Bathroom a bit dated but clean and functional. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Comfortable..
private hot spring bath in our room overlooking the bay and two additional private hot spring baths on the property. the omakase dinner and breakfast was amazing and the staff were patient and kind as it was our first traditional ryokan experience. For western travellers: it’s good to know some Japanese to communicate and use a translation app if you get stuck
There is a spa called "Fuua" in an adjacent hotel building where I got free access due to staying at the hotel. This is the most awesome onsen I have been to so far in Japan, would stay again just for this reason. Even though the hotel is a bit far from Atami station there are frequent shuttle buses going!
The room and common rooms are very tastefully decorated.
One of the biggest double rooms and most comfortable beds in Japan so far!
The location is right on the main street, close to restaurants, bus stops and the beach.
This place is amazing with a beautiful view over the sea and you are always welcomed with friendly staff. Great option to enjoy Atami Beach without staying in mass tourism hotel. 123 Music have so much more charm and soul!
Facility has both Chinese staff and Japanese staff. They were very warm and offered us free ride to the train station in the morning. The room is very spacious. I would say it's pretty comfort for 6-8 visitors to stay at.
The hosts were fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese, which made it possible for us to relax and feel our needs were understood. The place is beautifully outfitted, spotlessly clean, and very convenient.
Beautiful scenery at the window. Looking out at the seas at Atami.
Breakfast and dinner provided by the hotel were sumptuous and generous.
I felt hotel is cozy and exclusive.
Staff were kind.
Room was big, biggest we ever stayed in Japan and it's traditional Japanese style room. Clean, comfy, staff was nice. Near bus stop and walking distance to the beach, and Kinomiya shrine.
Room was ver tiny and overall hotel was very dated. Would have like a better dinner experience than a buffet. The breakfast buffet was quite good though and overall better than dinner.
It was a beautiful retreat that allowed you to unwind in a small coastal town. The traditional Japanese breakfast was wonderful and the onsen amenities were fantastic.
