The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful regarding trains and buses. The chefs preparing breakfast were knowledgeable as well and gave us baggies when we had to leave early for adventures. The woman on the rooftop bar was beautiful and amazing herself.

The location of this hotel was not too bad of a walk into the main areas of Sorrento. Once we arrived at the hotel we did not need to take a taxi anywhere. The room was quite large for Italy and the balcony was nice to have. I highly recommend the restaurant across the street that is a lemon/orange farm.

The town of Sorrento has gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and a wide variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Sorrento is a beautiful town that time forgot! So picturesque! Corso Italia is great for restaurants, pubs and people watching. By far my favourite place to stay in the Amalfi Coast region. Transport is great. You can easily access all other places of interest from here. I fell in love with Sorrento immediately. We will return as soon as possible!

The town is clearly a favourite tourist destination; at times it was heaving, so unless you love the crowds, I'd avoid peak summer! It was wonderful just to walk around the town, bars/restaurants/hotels aplenty, but great to get away from it all by an hour+ walk to a more secluded couple of beaches.
Our boat trip to Positano and Amalfi was a highlight; we chose the more expensive 12-passenger option with an informative, friendly guide and experienced skipper; we couldn't face being one of many on one of the bigger boats, but each to their own.
A guided hike along part of the Path of the Gods was fabulous too. It was very overcast, so the views weren't so spectacular for us, but it was still a magical experience. Again, pick your times as it can be more like the 'highway of the Gods' as our guide suggested.
It was a more expensive holiday than I had first planned, but we went with it, enjoying the heat, the sunshine, the friendly people, the great Mediterranean food and drink.

Sorrento provides an excellent water gateway to the Amalfi...
Sorrento provides an excellent water gateway to the Amalfi coast, Capri, Ischia and Naples as well as land access to the Archeological sites in the area. Road access to Naples airport has lots of traffic and delays to the airport can cost you with missing your flight.
Sorrento setting is beautiful but the center is extremely touristy, a common issue with many picturesque towns and villages in Europe but it is a reasonable alternative to staying in Naples.
There is a train to Naples that stops at various points along the way from Sorrento but we didn’t use it. Hotels on the hills above the town with their magnificent views are somewhat isolated from the center and are not easily accessible without an expensive taxi or a frequently running hotel-provided shuttle.
But as long as you understand the issues of getting around a stay in Sorrento can be very enjoyable.

Sorrento is excellent place to stay and visit.
Sorrento is excellent place to stay and visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
all amenities were close by.
Excellent for public transport and value for money. We used extensively.
Good places to eat with friendly staff.
Handy location at the end of the main street of the old town. You may not get the views of the hotels further out, but you don't get the long, uphill walk either! Huge room, useful balcony. Everywhere - room, corridors, reception, breakfast area - all spotlessly clean and spacious. Massive breakfast spread to help yourself from - best I've had in Italy and I've been a few times. Helpful reception staff. Don't be put off by the word Hostel. It's more like a hotel, without a restaurant. The Deluxe bit is more appropriate.
Location: Hotel is very close to train/bus station, close to city center where are all the restaurants and close to port and beach. Very well situated, next to a lemon garden :)
Rooms: very clean and nice decorated, furniture is in a very good shape, bed comfortable, pillows as well. they cleaned the room everyday
Breakfast: plenty of options on buffet and they have some additional items to order if you want (pancakes, crepes, fried eggs with bacon, porridge, omelette roll) One of the most rich breakfasts I had in Italy.
The staff at this hotel are simply the best team of staff we have ever encountered. From the initial welcome from Max to the lifeguard, barman and waiters they were absolutely second to none. Exceptional service going above and beyond, we didn't want to leave! Facilities amazing; pool clean and pool bar/restaurant wonderful; room great and breakfast was the best we have ever had ! This was the start of a 2 week break to Italy and it is the best hotel experience we have ever had. Super central location too!
The best part of the property is clearly the view and patio. One would not have such a great view of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento while staying in town, and the patio provides a large space for many people to relax and observe. The local village of Priora, with its lemon farms, is also quite charming and gives you more of a feel of rural Italy, despite the proximity to busy Sorrento. Sorrento itself is pretty accessible through a network of both public and private bus services, as well as taxis.
Fairly decent size room, breakfast selection was very good, lots of choice and all fresh.
Location was good, about a 5 minute walk and you could easily be on the main strips of Sorrento where you have your bars/restaurant
Bathroom is a good size and shower was best we had used in Italy during our stay, wasn't as weak as the others we had used already.
Very easy to check in and out, again compared to some of the others we had used during our time in Italy.
Lovely room right in the heart of Sorrento. The included breakfast and other little things like the iron, hair drier and kitchen facilities were a real bonus that I found not many other accomodation offers in Italy from my experience. So this made it super comfortable! The staff were nice and helpful. Oh and the roof top terrace was to die for! Great to see the sunset and sunrise from. The room is in great shape and it was super clean. Very very happy.
My husband and I were very impressed by the staff’s attentiveness and how they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We traveled throughout Italy for our honeymoon and this hotel was by far one of our favorites. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms were clean and spacious. There was even a driver to take you to and from Sorrento. I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sorrento. We hope to be back one day!
Great location. Close to the border of Sorrento. Beautiful apartment . Clean modern and nicely decorated. Kitchen well stocked- has spices coffee, tea, sugar and water. Plenty of cookware, and dishes. Very clean. Has island. Beautiful ocean view from balcony. Both bedrooms have queen size beds. Two bathrooms with showers. Plenty of books on Italy available. Three TV’s . Large couch. Staff was very accommodating about arrival time.
Close to train station and main square, gorgeous views from the balconies and windows, the host was the nicest person, breakfast was so yummy, everything was clean and comfortable, cold AC, and bonus that there were two sweet cats as well. This is simply the best experience I’ve had staying anywhere, and by far the best place we’ve stayed in Italy. Would recommend to anyone in the Sorrento/Amalfi area. Thank you, Raffaela!
The place is amazing!!! the best hotel in Italy for sure, and the feeling of home.
Everything you need is taken care of by Anntonella, there is a shuttle to sorrento , allday. The rooms are spactacular , beautiful, clean and with a lot of פינוקים
its like a zimmer. the food is delicious!! . the views are incredible. i would give it 20 out of 10!
In Sorrento, Italy, my wife and I cherished the Grand Hotel Royal. We enjoyed the hotel's wide space, the gardens, the outside dining area with cuisine and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, the accommodations, and the services. Not to mention how helpful, kind, and friendly the personnel, reception, room service and concierge were.
Amazing hotel. The shuttle to Sorrento city centre is such a benefit.
Amazing staff and the breakfast had such a huge selection. And the omelettes were the best we ever had.
And the dinner in the beautiful room overlooking the city was an experience we will not forget and will be hard to beat in Italy.
Cannot wait to return!
Bright room in newly renovated hotel. Everything works well: heater, air con. Big flat screen TV comes with cable TV like BBC, CNN, which is rare in Italy for 3-4 star hotels. Continental breakfast has good options: eggs, toast, fruit. Very good bedding, bedsheet and towels. This hotel merits 3.5 star rating.
Our host Bruno was absolutely amazing. He gave us a great welcome with home made cookies and a bottle of wine. He gave us great recommendations for food and even got us reservations. He had great tips for Sorrento but also all around Italy. The room itself was great. Extremely clean and well maintained.
Liked everything about the location, apartment and facilities. Its very secure, felt like home and staff is very very helpful. Gave all instructions very clearly and helped me in booking the last moment taxi to airport. Everything was just beautiful. Loved Italy loved Sorrento and people there.
Everything was amazing. Christina the Manager was exceptional in every way. The rooms are impeccably clean and so refreshingly styled. Sorrento is so beautiful and the breakfast was the best I had in Italy for variety. Faultless.
The location is really good, 10 mins walk from Main Street Sorrento!
The staff were very helpful and really lovely! The pool is nice and the pizza is sooo good, one of the best we had in Italy!
