Family owned and we met some of them and they are wonderful people. Very lovely family who genuinely care and get to know their guests even for a short stay. Beds are great, rooms are spacious and clean, location is a great proximity to Volterra. The restaurant is quaint and makes fantastic handmade pasta. Overall 10/10! Would repeat!!

La Locanda is perfectly located in Volterra: right near a main port so you can easily drop off things before parking (for free, in Docciola parking), there is a nice little park area for dog business, and you have immediate access to the central areas of Volterra too. The hotel location was very quiet (unfortunately other guests were not), it is nicely appointed in the room and in very good condition, and the staff are the highlight! Every one of the staff members were caring, friendly, accommodating and a wealth of information. Also, the breakfast was wonderful--plenty of healthy options like yogurt with fresh fruit and granola, and nice meats/cheeses, but my favorite were the homemade tarts/cakes on offer too. The room was nice and large, the bed was very comfortable (even the pillows, which is rare), and a nice large bathroom. Overall a wonderful stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at La Locanda again. Lastly, we loved the big, beautiful windows with full-dark shades/shutters too.

The property was so beautiful and spacious. You could go on walks and enjoy the view. The hotel restaurant was delicious. Ordered a different meal every time and all were great! The breakfast was delicious as well. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the Tuscan countryside. The staff were all so nice! We lost our charging adapter in Rome and they let us borrow one during our stay. Will definitely be planning another trip here!
