Historic building and grounds but all modernized in terms of decor indoors and functionality. Front desk (Veronica) was supportive with information about the town. The room we slept in was modern, comfortable and somewhat luxurious. Even the towels were plush (wow for Italy!). Breakfast was very good with lots of choices of fresh foods and beverages. Value is good except I choose the room with a balcony for 50 Euros more than the standard room. It is not worth it. The balcony overlooks the street.
Locanda Della Picca is right outside the historic walls of Città della Pieve. The hotel's terrace offers beautiful views of Val di Chiana and Mount Cetona.

The only reason why we chose this location was the fact that it was a transit point for us and we were tired. He private parking in front of the hotel and the location close to the main road were the arguments.

The house is very stylish and vintage, every detail is put to thought and the best thing for us was Nanita the cat (and Normajean the dog as well). The rooms are clean and spacious. There is a huge yard and pool which was also great and an amazing endless view. Many spots to chill inside and outside and excellent creative dinners.

This is an adorable little apartment in the heart of Orvieto’s historic district. Every detail has been thought through with small gifts of food and toiletries. I especially loved the dish soap attached to the wall with velcro in the kitchenette. The bedrooms are good-sized and the small kitchen is very efficient. Three small chairs are set up in front of the building among the plants and flowers - it is delightful to just sit there and chat.
