Good food is available mostly in the central city restaurants. The lake close by restaurants are expensive and not so good food. At dal Lake Gate 9, Bistro restaurant is very good food though expensive.
Do not miss any of the gardens, then Sankaracharya Temple.

The area offers a variety of interesting places and history. With delicious snacks and drinks in the city center, it's easy to get around all day. There are buses and cabs that connect you well on land and water. But you can also rent a bike. Lots of green and blue, incredibly beautiful gardens, temples and simply untouched nature. The small town centers are full of traditional crafts and stores for shopping. exciting architecture and temples, mosques or a museum are not far away. The people are all very nice and can show you the way if you get too lost.

I have wanted to visit Kashmir for 30 years,it did not disappoint.Shrinagar is an excellent base to visit the surrounding towns.The locals were friendly,helpful and engaging.Most of them spoke some English and often thanked us for visiting.I felt honoured to be there and highly recommend a visit as soon as possible.I will return!

Very Homely stay. It's more than an accommodation and the hotel felt like a home and people are feeling like a family. The guy Abrar helped me to plan my entire Srinagar itinerary for my family trip. He was also arranging me best deals for taxi and shikara ride. Also helped me to get a sim card.
