Bolpur offers 2 main attractions..the santiniketan and the saniwar flea market..both are absolute must sees...
Keep about 4 hrs for santiniketan..take a guide..
The Saturday market opens at about 4 pm and you require no less than 2 hrs there..bargain hard..but not too hard..
If you reach by 11 AM at santiniketan on a Saturday you can finish everything, stay the night at bolpur and return on Sunday..

The old natural beauty and ambience is going to be destroyed very fast because of rapid aggration of the commercial building structures in and around 'khoai' areas.
City areas including Bhuandanga has become congested mostly due to enormous number of totos.

For us Bolpur meant Santiniketan and the Poush Mela ftom 24 to 26 December 19. It was all a memorable and rejuvenating expetience. Thoroughy enjoyed the huge mela with baul singing, a huge variety of authentic local craft items, delicious local snax and a stamp local culture. Moving around in Viswabharati campus was a never before experience of how an ideal educational institution should be. Well maintained buildings of Tagore era, soothing environment made it all. Visit to Sonajhuri local haat a 2 kms away was another add on to remember.
Keep enough space in your bags for shopping.

Viswa Bharati University is worth the visit. The museum showcasing Gurudev’s life journey is amazing. Only thing is they shut at 1 pm for lunch. There were hundreds of tourists coming from far off places so they should keep it open entire day
The room was absolutely unexpected. The location is too bad and the room is completely different than shown in the website of booking.com. Not at all a comfortable stay. We went at the hotel, the manager showed us the different room, not the one we booked. And after asking for the room we booked, the manager asked for extra money.
Booking.com team should be careful while posting pictures of rooms on there site. Just for your benefit, you can't fool the customers.
Whispering Woods Inn and Restaurant is unique indeed. Located far from the madding crowd and the concrete jungle, it wears a majestic look in the midst of trees and plants. Everything smacks of good taste and elegance. It is worth being visited again and again. The hotel staff, especially the young, gentle manager, deserves our whole-hearted appreciation. We hope the tourists will find peace, joy and comfort in the days ahead, too. Wish all the best.
Very soothing ambience with cleanliness. Also the staffs were very much cooperative. The manager Mr. Kaushik Chakraborty himself takes care of each n every guests individually. Would recommend everyone this resort. Also in near future if I comes to Shantiniketan Bolpur, I would stay in this place only.
The charges are also not so high.. It's completely fine according to the service given by them. Also the food is also very nice nice.
Just located on the outskirts.. It's a great getaway from the hustle bustle of city life. Greenery all around, fresh air this place is heaven. All amenities are available. Stay was much better than a hotel and we were at ease having a whole villa to ourselves. Loved the stay and would love to come back again. The host and caretaker were very helpful and helped with all out needs and requirements
Upasana resort is situated amidst the greenery away from the hustle bustle of city life. A quiet and peaceful property where you can spend your time looking at the nature,to me it shows the true spirit of shantiniketan.The resort is clean and well maintained,staffs are polite and always ready to help you with a smile. Loved staying there and look forward to visit it again.
Nearest location from Bolpur-Santiniketan rail station. Neat and clean room with beautiful balcony. Excellent roof garden. Manager was co-operative in all time. Coffee, Breakfast, Lunch and dinner was excellent. Excellent stay with family. Short distance from Visva Bharati campus, khoai, sonaghiri, Ballavpur sanctuary.
It is an excellent place for families to stay in Shantiniketan. It is close to both Bolpur and Prantik stations.
The host is excellent and so are the support staff. The food was sumptuous.
We had a very memorable stay for three nights. We are definitely planning and hoping to go there again.
Very good accommodation and very lowest budget in entire Shantiniketan.Location is excellent very near to Prantik Railway station and 5min.from Sonajhuri and Shantiniketan,10min.from Maa Kankali,staff,cleaning, breakfast lunch dinner was very tasty and good . After all I enjoyed much.
