You would definitely need a car here to be able to visit Oia and Fira easily. Also Kamari was actually our favourite place, had a lovely beach, shops and restaurants. Megalokhori itself is very small village, it’s worth a little stroll down to. Also lovely homemade lemonade served in the little bar there.

Loved Megalochori: little beautiful village with its colorful houses, churches and little back alley streets. It was as if I was walking in a big painting or Theatre set. Met many friendly people; visited cozy restaurants and enjoyed tasty meals. Hope to visit many more times in future!

    The property is absolutely immaculate!!

The property is absolutely immaculate!! Romantic & Relaxaing!! Complimentary breakfast was excellent, too!! Public Transportation not easily accessable - eventhough the bus stop is only a 3 minutes walk. The sidewalk isn't user friendly - very Narrow & lots of outgrown weeds. You can take a bus to Fira from that bus stop - just do it in the morning - at night that area isn't walkable - from Megalochori to Fira is only 1,60 euros. However, from Fira took Uber back to hotel is about 36 Euros! After you arrived Fira bus station, you can take another bus to Oia for another 1,60 euros. We shouldn't have booked a split level room because there's a steep stairs to climb up to your bed :(

Megalochori is just a small village 5 kms south of the city centre Fira. It is less touristic and will suit people seeking for accommodation that is not so busy and hectic. It has some good restaurants and even a winery that sells fantastic red and rosè wine.

The village is very traditional and much less touristy than the other towns. There is a good selection of restaurants (7/8 maybe) and all of them are lovely, only 1 or 2 serve breakfast though. There are some lovely vineyards in the village too, some cooking classes and horse riding excursions. It's a small village so not huge amounts to do so more of a relaxing base from which to explore the Island. There was a small shop although the opening times were sporadic so we stocked up at the larger supermarkets just out of the village. We hired a car to get around and there is free parking in the village, the island is very small so it only takes 40 minutes to get to the other side, I think the local busses call through too although we didn't use these. We went with our 2-year-old who loved the local playground, although there were a lot of cobbles (as with all the villages) which made the buggy difficult.

This town was a great location on the island.

This town was a great location on the island. Not to close to the over touristed towns but easy access to them. The Town has everything you need, good restaurants, wineries and the best bakery in the island.

The location is superb: close to beautiful little village of Megalochori (walking distance); direct view on the sea (the sunsets: out of this world!) and Vulcano. The rooms are beautifully designed: simple, modern and very very clean (bed super comfy). The staff is very friendly, with a special shout out to Sofia (who upgraded me for free to a beautiful room with private patio and pool and directly helped me find someone that could deliver an eBike for rent to the Hotel), and Chris: Thank you for your kindness and great client service!

    - Great host, always available and such a nice lady. She had a small typical greek café/restaurant right below the house. Though we arrived late and it was fully booked, she had food delivered to us on order (great typical greek dishes). - Amazing and diverse breakfast. - The house was beautifully decorated, great ambiance. - The transfer was arranged for us. - Such a quiet and lovely place in Santorini, away from all the chaos of Thira and Óia, though transfer service was available if booked in advance.

This hotel was our favorite of our whole Greek Summer. Incredible, private rooms, wonderful made to order breakfast with view of the caldera, an incredible pool and a great restaurant. We ate there one night and were incredibly satisfied. They made amazing cocktails too. Our room had a jacuzzi with perfect summer temperature: cold enough to be refreshing and hot enough you could be there hours. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we come back to Santorini.

We needed accommodation for our last night in the Cycladic islands and Grand View Megalochori served us perfectly! We were a bit skeptical about Santorini because we had experienced the hordes of tourists first hand and only visited because our flight departed from Santorini. Upon arrival we were surprised with an upgrade to a crater-view suite, and this place is just out of this world. The view is magical and you really do not need to leave the place. 10/10

Wow! The most amazing place to stay for our honeymoon. The view was breathtaking!! The pool. The breakfast. The suite. Just everything was perfect! Panos was so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was great. 15 minute drive to Fira and a short drive/walk to the local town which has some lovely shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend/l. You will definitely need a car to explore Santorini and get the most out of your trip.

The town is super cute and the suite is located right in the center. The suite is private, secure, and beautiful, cave-like room. The little pool in the cave was a nice touch to really make it feel like Santorini. It was also warm in the cave pool which was awesome. I wish we had more time there to enjoy it, honestly. It was spacious and comfortable, modern and in good taste.

He was very helpful with anything we needed (dinner recommendations, transport etc.). The breakfast every morning was very yummy and satisfying. Adriana is the best host ever! She is so lovely. She gave us so many tips and places to go. The suite is spacious, the jacuzzi is really great with a temperature of 25 degrees :) The location is perfect. It is very close to everything and walking distance from the heart of Santorini (best sunset view !).
