It was super clean, the host is very open and friendly and the interior was super nice and with cute details.
An not overcrowded beach is very close, and so is the Bus Station for the Bus from Chania.
The house has an very nice rooftop terrace with a view to the sea. Nice restaurants and also supermarkt are close.
Full recommendation to this place if you wanna join the sea and not being in the middle of overtouristic places.
Just a few steps from Hermans Beach and a 3-minute walk from Kalives Beach, Thamirakis Studios features accommodations in Kalyves, with a garden.

We did not stay at Thamirakis as our room was not available, instead we were moved 1,2km away to the edge of the village. The place was very nice though, right on the beach, so no complains here.
Facing the beachfront, Aloe Boutique Hotel & Suites - adults only offers 5-star accommodations in Almyrida and features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and terrace.

Perfect Cretan working village by the sea.Great beaches.Plenty good tevernas,kanefeons and bars with very reasonable prices.Supermarket,mini markets and shops Local butchers,bakers,fruit and veg shops with fresh local produce.Good base fortrips to other places including archeological and historical sites.Car hire and ATMs in abundance.It's about 30 - 40 minutes depending on your mode of transport from Chania airport and about 25 minutes from Souda ferry terminal.Highly recommended.

The rooms have no noise cancellation from the outside world.
The humidity is high and they look different than the picstures in booking.
They are probably 3-4 star bungalows not hotel rooms.

The hotel was lovely with very good all inclusive. The TV dosen't show English channels except for BBC News. Right on the beach with the hotel providing free sun beds & unbrellas. The sea was very cold & the beach very course. Not much in the village. You will need a car to get around or a taxi.

The owner is a very lovely lady.
The owner is a very lovely lady. She even let me stay over the check out time on my last day, which was just perfect! It is by the seaside so the view is very pretty! You can also go to the little greek town center by foot. The beach is also very close and tavernas too. Supermarket is 1min away by car so the location is perfect!

Kalyves is a traditional Cretan seaside town, with so many good & well priced tavernas to choose from. Our favourites were Elena's and Mythos, both right by the sea. The beaches are lovely and clean and not too busy.
We have been visiting Kalyves on and off since 1990 and it really hasn't changed that much in all this time - it has the same charm now as it did then.

Travelled early May and loved the very relaxed feel to the village. Lots of places to eat delicious Greek food all reasonably priced. Lots of shops and supermarkets. Nice sandy beach too. Drinks in the bars were very reasonable and there were bakeries which opened early morning so you can buy freshly made pastries for breakfast. Totally delightful place.
The hotel, staff and location were absolutely superb. Murielle and Penelope, who worked on the front desk, couldn’t do more for us. All the staff were so friendly and professional. The river / estuary running next to the hotel was delightful. We spent time on our balcony soaking up the sunshine watching the fish playing in the current. The beach and local harbour made this a lovely location to holiday. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of visiting Crete. 😁
Location - literally just around the corner from the beautiful gently sloping sandy beach and all seafront restaurants and bars.
Host - Ioanna was lovely, gracious and very accommodating - I didn't arrive until nearly 22:00, and Ioanna offered for a member of her family to pick me up from the bus stop near the village on the main road to Chania.
Apartment - a little basic, but ok for my very short stay. All the usual self catering facilities provided.
1) very good location. The hotel is located in bay (from one side you can see Chania airport, from other - Kalyves), hence sea is very calm. Also, there is no big hotels nearby, therefore beach zone is almost empty.
2) very good food. The variety of food is impressive. orange fresh each morning. I remember super with 5 different types of meat and red fish.
3) very comfortable for families with children
Great location (not far away from the Chania airport, nice beach and some restaurants very close). The host family was really friendly and helpful. We have received nice welcome.The possibility of renting a car at the place is a plus. The room with a nice terrace you can have breakfast on. Very clean and quiet place. Friendly atmosphere. The swimming pool is available to all guests.
A wonderful family-run hotel right on the beach at Kalyves complete with taverna, bar, cafe and a shop with all the essentials, all on the same strip. As a guest you also have access to the sunbeds and the welcoming hospitality of the owners! Great food, clean and comfortable rooms and of course you can't beat the amazing location.
Very good location, great views over the bay and just a short walk down to the beach. Very quiet location with a large lawn with sun loungers. I had stayed here a few years ago, the new owners renovated the place. The kitchen facilities are small, but perfectly adequate. Everything is new and spotlessly clean.
It is located in quiet location. When going to beach, that is quite close and very nice, you need to walk on main road so be careful. Unless you use car, it is possible to walk to close Almyrida or Kalyves for restaurants and shops. Beaches at both villages are a bit crowded but not so bad.
Maria was very helpful, and the place is lovely, really.
Wake up to coffee at a table on the lawn looking at the sea... Bbq stuff from the supermarket 2 minutes' walk from the place in the evening. Drive 5 m8nutes into Kalyves to walk around or go to a swimming beach. Lovely vacation spot.
We loved everything about this house! Beautiful, clean, safe, private and a three minute drive to an amazing beach and fantastic restaurants. Manos was so helpful with information about the island and questions we had about the house. Nothing negative to say. Highly recommend!!!!

Great view of the sea in very roomy flat with front and back balconies. Easy walk to the village & beaches. Panos was a friendly host - also working hard at his restaurant/coffee shop next door. We appreciated the complimentary laundry facility!
Fantastic place just a short walk to a lovely beach spot. Nice location just outside of Kalives. So we could get away from the traffic of the beach goers.
