Mole End, hotel in Withypool

Featuring a garden, Mole End provides accommodations in Withypool. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking.

Mole End far exceeded our expectations (and they were good already, due to the positive reviews!). Mop was so helpful and hospitable - without being obtrusive (an amazing skill!). The home cooked breakfasts were fabulous for both my carnivore husband and me (a vegetarian). The three rooms (longe-bedroom; kitchen; and shower/toilet) were exactly what we needed. The location was perfect for walkers like my husband and I - plus it is very close to a lovely tea room, village shop and pub. Moreover, we were only a short drive from a number of ‘beauty-spots’ - as well as Minehead and other busier areas.

The Crown Hotel, hotel in Withypool

At the heart of Exmoor National Park, The Crown Hotel is a family-run 17th century coaching inn with free WiFi and exceptional food.

The gentleman who checked us in was empathetic and went out of his way to give us a more suitable room. Chris, who served us breakfast the next morning told us about a fabulous bus service that took us to the sights so that we could have a driving break! The king room was fabulous and had a bath. Could have stayed longer had we not committed to other places 😭

Exmoor House, hotel in Withypool

Exmoor House offers accommodations in Wheddon Cross, 20 miles from Tiverton Castle. Providing a tennis court, the property is located within 6.8 miles of Dunster Castle.

Breakfast was very good - we just went simple though. The owners, Izzy and Peter were super friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and would have enjoyed staying longer if our schedule worked. It is in an older building but recently reworked. Booking.com made a mixup on the credit card. I gave them the card and it seemed accepted. The host was not paid and asked about it and I found a note on my confirmation that the location did not accept credit cards which was not true. Izzy handled this very well - friendly question before our departure and all resolved, they took ours. I blame Booking.com

Very central for everything Exmoor has to offer. Lovely walks from doorstep or a short drive away. Not far to coastline through beautiful countryside. Excellent tearoom and pub in village. Roads are tight in places so good to plan time of year and day to go on visits.

Withypool has an excellent tea rooms, open every day, even in winter, and a very handy village shop and post office. Situated near the centre of the moor, there are lots of excellent walks around, either over the moor or down the river. Tarr Steps is a must-visit site and is a good walk down river from the village.
