Very helpful staff; made great suggestions as to where to eat and how to get to special places to visit, especially Vindolanda, which we would have missed otherwise, and was terrific. Parking was safe and available.
Beds were very comfortable, room was clean, water was hot for shower, and breakfast was good.

Hotel was beautiful, very friendly & welcoming staff, bedrooms and hotel immaculate throughout. Lovely breakfast each morning, we also stayed in for dinner one night which we all enjoyed, zero complaints from our party of 3. Everything was perfect .. really nice rooms and kitchen..we love the quiet area and comfort in cottage .. You don't have to take to much with you , everything is there ..we was cooking at the cottage and we had kitchen full of what we need (like dishes, cleaning products, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher)
cottage was very warm, underfloor heating gives high comfort to this place
