Bel & The Dragon at The Red Lion is a historic grade II-listed coaching inn with stunning features dating back to 1669 and possibly even earlier in origin; much of the original building still stands.

Unique due to the age and style, not some where I’d normally chose to stay.
Set in the ancient Aylesbury village of Weston Turville, this Innkeeper's Collection features free on-site parking and an on-site pub with roaring log fires. Aylesbury town center and Go Ape!

The duty manager was very rude and unhelpful. Did not want to listen and when I informed him that he was being rude acted like a child. I have stayed in the hotel on several occasions, but I now won’t be booking a hotel for my overnight stays. I will also instruct my team not to used this hotel.
This splendid manor house is set in 35 acres of wooded parkland and offers modern facilities in historic surroundings. The property features an indoor pool and a gymnasium.

The hotel felt very welcoming, the outdoor seating area was really nice and inviting. We ended up having breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at what was on offer.

Wendover looked really fresh and welcoming. Better than when I was there before the pandemic.
Amazing Thai restaurant at the George and Dragon. The waitress remembered, to the letter and person, the order from 8 people and the food was fab.

Wendover is a very picturesque small town with lots of good restaurants and pubs to choose from. The Ridgeway Path goes through Wendover and this stretch of the path is very beautiful in that it traverses through some varied woodlands. It is also a great base for visiting other places of interest, such as the Natural History Museum in Tring.

It's in a beautiful part of the country (soon to be ruined by HS2 unfortunately) and there is plenty of access to great walks on Coombe Hill NT property, Wendover Woods - complete with Skywalk - as well as the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal towpaths. Other NT properties are nearby.
Being from Wendover and actually brought up in this Inn it was really nice to see the place refurbished to a really standard, room was a good size fridge, safe iron we're all standard, staff we're really helpful, lovely choices of drinks as you'd expect from a place like this, location is ideal for all local amenities and walks to the Chiltern hills and local park, loved the complementary sloe gin in the room and the whisky night cap at the top of the stairs was a lovely touch
Hale House is a fantastic property, spacious, modern and spotless with everything catered for. The room was large with a sitting area, and space to relax when you are in the property. It was an easy walk to Wendover, where you have a large selection of restaurants and bars to sample. Whether you are meeting friends or having a stop over on a walk, you are made extremely welcome. The breakfast selection was incredible, and it was perfectly cooked - great start for our day.
The hotel was brilliant, the room was excellent and the free gin was a great idea, also the tot of whisky on the landing before bed is top class.
It was great having the restaurant downstairs, and the food was top-notch. And so was the service.
Breakfast was top quality and had lots of choices
We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Loved the ambiance. The food menu was not to our taste. Although the breakfast was good. Only thing missing was porridge. Loved our room. Shame the safety rail fell off the door. Just as well it was me and not my partner who has mobility problems which is why we had an accessable room.. Staff were very friendly and approachable.
Accommodations were great-- was perfect for the husband, me and our 6-year old. She loved sleeping in a bunk bed! Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed.
Loved seeing young adults making a go of it at this place...and getting it right! Congrats, guys!
EVERYTHING! great location! it was clean! everything you need! cosey! comfortable! staff were amazing! we got upgraded for free upon arrival! our room was AMAZING! clean! warm and cosey! all facilities were there! everything you need! the best hotel room / hotel we have stayed !!
We were walking the Ridgeway and the Red Lion was an ideal overnight stop before the last section to Ivinghoe Beacon. Very comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good pub dinner with nice selection of beers and a varied choice of breakfasts.
Immaculately clean. very comfortable bedroom. The home was modern and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious, freshly made. The host Susanna was very friendly. Overall I had a fantastic stay.
Everything was excellent! We had a lovely stay in Wendover. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Location was great too - super quiet but still close to the village centre.
Great hotel. lovely, friendly staff. Excellent room and delicious breakfast. A great touch - the free gin and the ‘night cap’ on the landing. The Dyson fan in the room was also a real bonus.
I think I tried enough B&B to say that Hale House is the best B&B in UK & Susanna set a new bar that is hard for any place else to match, it is a hidden gem in Wendover, highly recommended.
Beautiful and comfortable house, very welcoming host, fabulous breakfast. Location excellent for the Ridgeway, the town of Wendover (which is lovely!) and all local amenities.
